During the war,the Taihang anti-Japanese base area was an important part of the revolutionary base area of Shanxi,Hebei,Shandong and Henan, and one of the main battlefields of the anti-Japanese war, with an extremely important strategic position as the site of the Northern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, and the headquarters of the 129 th Division. In order to resist the Japanese invasion, the soldiers and people of Taihang under the leadership of the Communist Party of China took up the war service of the base area, fully supported the war in terms of human, material and financial resources, gathered the strong force of the people and made a great contribution to the victory of the war. This paper focuses on the war service work of Taihang anti-Japanese base in six parts. The introductory part of the first chapter explains the relevant contents from five aspects, including the origin of the selected topic, the review of academic history, the research materials and methods, the definition of relevant concepts, and the innovation of the thesis.Chapter 2 analyzes the social environment in which the base carried out its war work, introduces the creation of the Taihang anti-Japanese base and its development, explains the important status of the Taihang anti-Japanese base, and analyzes the military situation of the Japanese and pseudo-armies and the Eighth Route Army during the war.Chapter 3 introduces the establishment and perfection of the war service organization of the Eighth Route Army and the promulgation of relevant regulations, and explains that the Communist Party of China mobilized people to join the war service work from both positive and negative sides by means of propaganda such as granting material remuneration, organizing pro-advantage campaigns and launching revolutionary contests.Chapters 4 and 5 focus on military support, preferential treatment for the families of anti-Japanese soldiers, resettlement of honorably discharged soldiers and other war service work, and explore the deviations in war service work in terms of government burden distribution, cadres’ awareness and people’s cooperation, and explore the coping strategies of the base governments.Chapter 6 summarizes the social effectiveness and historical experience of war service work, which has inspirational significance for the contemporary promotion of the deep development of civil-military integration. The war was a battle of blood and flesh between the Chinese people and the Japanese army, and a life-and-death struggle to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity and national dignity. All work can only be prepared and completed from overcoming the difficulties of the war.Taihang anti-Japanese base area soldiers and civilians have made great sacrifices and contributions to this.In spite of the fact that the people were not well off, they overcame many difficulties to give maximum support to the army, which became an indispensable condition for the victory of the war.In order to study the burden of service on the people in the base areas, their psychological characteristics, the results achieved and the shortcomings, and to investigate the effectiveness of their operational mechanisms,it is necessary to consider the historical significance of the war service from the people’s standpoint. The people is the foundation of a state and when the foundation is solid the state enjoys tranquility. In the new era,we must firmly adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, insist on giving full play to the "power of the people" as the truth, and give full play to the advantage of centralized power to do great things,in order to gather the power of struggle to write a new chapter in the new journey.
