| Left-wing identity politics is a product of the troubled class politics in the United States after World War II and a re-emergence after the marginalization of left-wing forces.The social movements influenced by left-wing identity politics have promoted the pluralism of American society,improved the situation of minority groups,and,to some extent,facilitated the political democratization of the United States.However,the extreme pursuit of difference and cultural power has exacerbated the contradictions among different groups within the United States,undermined the foundation of national identity,and ultimately led to the rise of right-wing populism.As a politics of difference based on the logic of postmodern philosophical discourse,left-wing identity politics,by disregarding economic issues and adhering to a multiculturalist struggle line,has violated the left-wing universalist revolutionary ideal and eventually transformed into complicity with bourgeois rule and the parasitic accumulation of financial capital.Although various countermeasures,such as "returning to civil politics" and "returning to class politics," have been proposed within academic circles based on different positions,resolving the political chaos in the United States in the short term remains challenging.For our country,it is crucial to learn from the experiences and lessons of American left-wing identity politics.In the current era of economic globalization,social informatization,and cultural diversity,our country needs to support the development of cultural and social diversity,create an inclusive and harmonious social environment,establish and improve mechanisms for citizen political participation,and develop people’s democracy throughout the process.Additionally,improving the working pattern of the united front is essential to fully leverage its role as a powerful tool.At present,our country is facing a historic transformation unseen in the world for a century.Understanding the formation mechanisms and operational logic of left-wing identity politics,as well as comprehending the current political chaos in the United States and Western countries and the profound roots of their evolution,will greatly assist our country in the new era.It holds significant reference significance and value in understanding and assessing the international situation,making domestic and foreign decisions,clarifying China’s development direction,and promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capabilities. |
