The original meaning of "involution" is to refer to the phenomenon that a social or cultural model stagnates after a certain stage of development,or cannot be transformed into a higher model, but this statement has been extended to many categories of social life, and is more used to describe a social uneasiness, anxiety and mental attrition caused by excessive competition and vicious competition. The survey found that since the popularity of the "involution",many college students not only use and discuss the inner volume in their lives, but also feel the "involution" in the process of learning and employment.Self-identity refers to the individual’s self-affirmation in the search for self-development and the thinking and choice of some major issues related to self-development,such as ideals, occupations, values, outlook on life, etc. The establishment of self-identity among college students is not only conducive to their full understanding of themselves, understanding themselves, and forming an organic whole for their past, present and future, but also conducive to better planning the future, clarifying what kind of person they want to become in the future, and making correct thinking and choices about their ideals and life values.According to the psychologist Erikson’s eight-stage theory of personality development, college students aged 16-25 are in a critical period of self-identity establishment, and the self-identity development of college students will naturally be affected by the "involution".To a certain extent, the "involution" can promote the development of individuals and society, but the meaningless "involution" will block the pace of social progress and restrict the physical and mental health of the individual and the all-round development of the individual.Because college students are in the torrent of "involution",the lack of high-quality resources leads to excessive competition, the meaningless consumption of time and energy makes them unable to correctly understand themselves, the ideal of me and the reality of me often contradictory, and then produce self-doubt,self-denial of negative emotions, exacerbating their pressure in learning, life, employment and other aspects. The competitive trend of more and more "volumes" greatly affects the establishment of self-identity of college students, resulting in their vulnerability to encounter the crisis of self-identity,which is mainly manifested in the confusion of problems related to self, the problems of interpersonal relations and exchanges, the difficulties of career planning and development, and the test of values and ideals and beliefs.Under the background of "involution",the main factors affecting the development of college students’ self-identity include the imbalance of social resources, the relative "depreciation" of academic qualifications in the talent market, the prominent utilitarianism in family education, and the decline of personal self-efficacy caused by excessive "involution".In order to alleviate the psychological pressure brought by the "involution" to college students and cope with the crisis of college students’ selfidentity, society should be people-oriented and suppress the vicious development of "involution".Colleges and universities should be student-oriented and alleviate the psychological impact of "involution" to students. The family should be sentimentoriented and enhance the formation of self-identity.Individuals should be based on aspirations to promote the harmonious development of self-identity.In addition, society, schools, families and individuals should work together to pay attention to and promote the healthy physical and mental development of college students and cultivate outstanding talents for social progress.
