China is a unified multi-ethnic country.The Dulong ethnic group is a minority group that combines "border,direct transition and small population",and has long been a concern of the Party and the State.Children and youth are the builders and successors of the socialist cause,and the cultivation of a strong sense of Chinese community among Dulong children and youth helps maintain national unity and promote social progress,which is a necessary requirement for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Dulongjiang Township,Gongshan Dulong Nu Autonomous Prefecture,Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province,is the only Dulong ethnic group settlement in China,and School D is the only primary and secondary school in the area,so it is representative to conduct a study on the cultivation of Dulong children’s sense of community among the Chinese ethnic group using School D as a case study.The study is based on Marxist ethnic and educational theories,starting with the basic overview of the Dulong ethnic group and the basic overview of School D.Using the case study method,documentary research method,interview survey method,and observation method as research methods,the study conducted semi-structured interviews with 13 teachers in School D and highly controlled structured interviews with 36 Dulong children and youth with the help of the local education bureau and government,and We also conducted non-participant observation of various aspects of the cultivation of a strong sense of Chinese community in School D.We finally selected three typical cases of the cultivation of a strong sense of Chinese community among Dulong children and youth.Through field research,we investigated the actual situation of cultivating a sense of Chinese community among Dulong children and youth,sorted out the ways of cultivating a sense of Chinese community among Dulong children and youth from three aspects: curriculum implementation,cultural incubation,and practical activities,and used "five identities" as a dimension to investigate the cultivation of a sense of Chinese community among Dulong children and youth.We also analyze the effect of cultivating a strong sense of Chinese community among Dulong children and adolescents in terms of "five identities",and suggest that there are problems at four levels: schools,teachers,children and families.In the end,we explored four strategies for improvement,namely,enhancing the implementation effect of cultivating a strong sense of Chinese community in schools,strengthening teachers’ professionalism in cultivating a strong sense of Chinese community,raising children’s awareness of cultivating a strong sense of Chinese community,and establishing a joint mechanism for cultivating a strong sense of Chinese community at home and school.
