The United States is a multi-ethnic country of immigrants and their descendants, dominated by Anglo-Saxon culture, and in its nearly two-and-a-halfcentury history, the relationship between mainstream culture and other minority cultures is very complex, and racial discrimination is deeply rooted.Blacks and other minorities have been treated unjustly and unfairly for a long time in the past, and they have been fighting for their situation. The American civil rights movement of the 1960s somewhat eased tensions between whites and blacks, replacing them with "neo-racism",which existed in American social life in a more subtle and implicit way in the post-civil rights era. With the election of President Ma Barack Obama, many white Americans claim that the United States has entered a post-racial era, arguing that in this era, race is no longer the subject of American society, and that the United States has transformed into a post-racist era in which racism has almost disappeared. However, the fact is that Obama’s election failed to alleviate interracial conflict, and cases of racial discrimination have occurred repeatedly. On the basis of reviewing the systematic abuse caused by traditional racism in the United States to blacks and other minorities, this paper conducts a systematic analysis of new racism in American society based on the principle of the normal curve:firstly, the classification and characteristics of new racism in the United States are discussed;Secondly, the normal distribution principle is used to distinguish the base, positive and negative regions of the representation of new racism in the United States, and then the logic of the existence of new racism in American society is demonstrated from the three dimensions of black and white dualism, white supremacy and clear conflict, and finally the so-called "post-racism" existing in American society is analyzed. It turns out that both traditional and new racism are inseparable. However, this kind of "new racism",which is different from the traditional institutional racism discrimination in the past,is mainly targeted by culture, and is spreading in American society, completely debunking the lie that the United States has entered the post-racist era.
