In the new era,China has higher requirements and pursuit for the press and public opinion work.It is necessary to focus on improving China’s international communication ability,reversing China’s long-term passive position in international communication,and breaking the obstacles set by western mainstream media leading international communication to China’s national image construction.At present,China is in the critical period of constructing national image.It is extremely important to enhance the ability of constructing national image in international communication.2020 was a very special year,when the sudden COVID-19 outbreak became a common challenge for the world.China has attracted the attention of the world with its outstanding performance during the epidemic,and won precious opportunities to build its national image with its contribution and responsibility as a responsible major country.However,under the influence of inherent ideological bias,western mainstream media,in order to deflect the public pressure of their own ineffective epidemic prevention,produced a large number of false information in their China-related coronavirus reports to discredit and blame China,causing a great negative impact on China’s national image.Therefore,a systematic study of the multi-dimensional shaping of China’s national image by China-related coronavirus reports of western mainstream media is of great importance to reversing the unfavorable situation of China’s national image construction during the epidemic period,and can summarize the methods and paths of constructing China’s national image in the post-epidemic era,effectively promoting the construction of China’s national image in international communication.Guided by the scientific ideological and theoretical system of Marxist view of journalism,this research innovatively puts forward the analytical framework of international communication from the perspective of Marxist view of journalism and analyzes the China-related coronavirus reports of western mainstream media from three aspects: the authenticity of news reports,the popularity of journalism and the justice of news communication.This research clarifies the multi-dimensional shaping of China’s national image,further excavates the challenges and opportunities faced by China in constructing its national image,and puts forward countermeasures for constructing China’s national image in the post-epidemic era.By innovating the analytical theory of national image in international communication,this research expands the theoretical perspective of analyzing national image in international communication,and aiming at the special problems in the epidemic,proposes three-level solutions for constructing national image in the post-epidemic era,including responding to false reports by western mainstream media in a scientific way,telling stories about China’s epidemic prevention and control,strengthening the international communication efficiency and capacity of Chinese media.It has enlightenment and reference significance for China to construct the national image in the international communication in the new era,promoting China to turn the epidemic difficulties into opportunities for development,and to take a key step in constructing the national image in the post epidemic era. |
