A Study On The Psychology And Prevention Of Criminal Suicide

Suicide is an important public issue for society,and for individuals it is a psychological manifestation and behavioral way of seeking help from the outside world through self-aggressive behavior.As a highly enclosed and strictly controlled place,the prison regulates the behavior of criminals.In recent years,the facilities and methods for preventing criminal suicide in the prison have become more complete,and the suicide rate of criminals has decreased.But in fact,the suicide rate of criminals(including attempted suicide)still maintains a relatively high level,which is inseparable from factors such as the characteristics of the prison itself that easily cause strong suicidal tendencies,and the fact that criminals belong to a special group and have a certain degree of self-aggression.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the problem of criminal suicide from the perspective of criminal psychology.Based on the collection of 25 cases of criminal suicide(including attempted suicide),the author consulted relevant literature.Based on the theoretical knowledge of motivation and inducement in psychology,this article analyzes the psychological motivation of criminals for suicidal tendencies and the environmental inducements in prisons,and expounds the related factors of the suicidal psychology of criminals serving sentences in prisons.Then,according to the chronological order,the psychological process of criminals’ suicidal psychology is divided into four stages,namely the budding stage,the conflicting stage,the suicide decision formation stage,and the suicide decision execution stage.In the four stages,the criminal’s suicidal psychological severity and The characteristics are all different.Then,compared with normal criminals,suicidal criminals have certain common characteristics in their personality,life experience and psychological state,that is,criminals with what characteristics are suicidal.Generally,such criminals have certain personality defects and personality paranoia in their personality characteristics,and their life experiences often show common characteristics such as low education level and complex family background.The types of crimes are mainly violent crimes and property Supplemented by type crimes,the violent and impulsive personality characteristics of this type of criminals are more prominent.Moreover,the age of this type of criminals is showing a trend of lower age,the increase in the rate of juvenile crime in my country,and the three perspectives of juvenile criminals themselves have not been fully established,and they are more prone to paranoia and bad psychology.Finally,combined with the above description of the characteristics and psychological analysis of criminals with suicidal tendency,some corrective ideas are proposed for criminals serving sentences from the perspectives of general prevention and special intervention.The first is general prevention.In the face of the preventive measures proposed by all criminal groups,combined with the previous description of the life experience of criminals and the environmental incentives in the prison,this part mainly focuses on all aspects of education and correction,exerting social support,and improving the organizational system.Put forward preventive measures.Through education,the cultural level and cognitive abilities of criminals are improved,and social support is used to strengthen their connections with family,friends,accomplices and other social relations.This not only strengthens the bond strength,but also provides criminals with a comprehensive support.A good environment for prison reform,through the improvement of the organizational system,strengthening the prevention level of civil defense,physical defense,and technical defense,eliminating environmental incentives in the prison,making the relationship between police and prisoners more harmonious,and helping criminals to trust the prison staff.A good atmosphere of mutual help.The second is special intervention,which is mainly aimed at criminals who have suicidal tendencies.It is mainly divided into three steps.The first step is to identify the target criminal group,avoid waste of resources,and at the same time perform symptomatic analysis.The first step is to conduct psychological measurement and psychological intervention on the target crime,to increase the importance of criminals with suicidal tendencies,and to strengthen the systematic management of such criminals.The self-awareness of the criminals should be cultivated,and the inner demands of the criminals should be deeply understood,so that the criminals can recover their health.The psychological structure of the crime rekindles confidence in life.The third step is to use scientific methods to help the target crime eliminate suicidal psychology,complete the reform of the criminal,and provide experience for practical work.
