| A Standard Interpretation of English Course in Full-time Compulsory Education(2011Edition)highlights language ability,cultural awareness,thinking ability,and learning capability.The book as a guideline puts forward specific requirements for English reading ability for junior high school students.What’s more,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and General Office of the State Council recently triggered Easing the Burden of Excessive Homework and Off-campus Tutoring for Students Undergoing Compulsory Education,which offered a challenge for high-efficiency and practical English reading teaching in class to implement.It means traditional educational methods will meet significant reform.Teachers need to grasp limited class teaching time to create a high-efficient class when executing the policy of Double Reduction Policy as well as guaranteeing teaching quality at the same time.Therefore,each teacher should think of the questions more under the policy of Double Reduction Policy about how to fully harness students’ study enthusiasm and forge high-efficient classes in English reading teaching class in Junior High School to lighten the burden for students as well as master what have learned and improving study strategies,which lead to learning ability.To truly improve students’ reading interest,reading achievements,and ability has become a huge challenge under such circumstances.Reading teaching activities that are designed in logical,hierarchical,and gradient ways make classroom teaching become the chief position for Double Reduction Policy,which are all questions that teachers put emphasis on and research.This thesis aims to probe into the effect respectively from English reading attitude,English reading achievements,and English reading autonomy for students based on question chain teaching mode.The research subjects are from Class One and Class Two in the first year of junior high at Kunming middle school in Yunnan Province.The researcher regarded Class One as a controlled class and applied the traditional English reading teaching method,while Class Two was considered as an experimented class and implemented a question chain teaching mode in English reading in this experiment that lasted one semester.To complete the experiment,the researcher adopted the following research methods: questionnaire and interview as well as the pre-test and post-test.Besides,the researcher also applied Excel and SPSS 23.0 to organize and analyze data.For the first place,the paper put an attempt on studying the influence of QCTM on English reading attitude for middle school students.Post-questionnaire and interview are together served as data collection analysis in experimented class to analyze the change in students’ reading attitude.And then pre-test and post-test both in controlled class and experimented class were exerted to analyze the change before and after the experiment,and to testify whether QCTM could improve student’s English reading achievements was reflected exactly.At last,the researcher took advantage of pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire to go on exploring the influence of students’ reading autonomy in experimented class.The results demonstrate that the application of QCTM in Junior High School contributes to solving vexed issues in English reading teaching under Double Reduction Policy.It is possible that QCTM should become an effective way to arouse students’ active thinking and cultivate students’ learning strategy,as well as forming learning autonomy,to improve students’ achievements.But due to the limitations of the actual operating environment and the short experimental period,this research has some shortcomings.But in general,the research has reached its expectations,and the author expects to exert some reference and illumination on Junior High School English reading teaching,meanwhile,the shortcomings will be promoted and enhanced. |
