Teacher support,as a key factor affecting primary school students’ math learning,has many functions.At present,most students lack obvious feelings and experiences about the love,care,respect and encouragement from math teachers while studying math.They also lack some guidance on math learning methods and strategies,as well as the support of learning math autonomy.A few students even show a state of giving up on themselves in the process of learning math.To a certain extent,a deep understanding of the role and path of teachers’ support in primary school students’ math learning can awaken the support consciousness of front-line math teachers and meet the needs of teachers’ support in students’ math learning.In this paper,questionnaires and interviews are used to investigate the current situation of teachers’ support for senior math learning in primary schools,and then the problems are analyzed and practical suggestions are tried to solve the problems.Combining with the theory of self-determination motivation,social support,and teachers’ professional development stage,the survey found the following problems in teachers’ support felt by primary students in math learning: Emotional love and concern are not enough;lack emotional encouragement and help;pay too much attention to the uniqueness of students’ problem-solving process;students are not given enough time to study and think independently;students’ ability to draw inferences from others can’t be fully developed;pay not enough attention to the difference of students’ learning level.Combined with the results of interview and investigation,the study believes that the reasons for these problems are: Traditional teacher authority affects students’ emotional experience in math learning;the emotional quality of primary school math teachers needs to be further improved;the conscious cultivation of students’ divergent thinking in math is not enough;the students’ actual demand for knowledge in math is constrained;utility-oriented exam-oriented education still has an impact on primary school math teaching;the creation of math teaching links lacks respect for students’ dominant position.Combined with the theory and practice of education and teaching,this study puts forward corresponding improvement strategies,which mainly include: Increase the emotional support of math teachers to relieve students’ math pressure;pay attention to the cognitive support of math teachers based on the teaching of math learning methods and strategies;pay attention to the independent support of math teachers based on independent learning and thinking.
