A Study On Xi Jinping’s View Of Youth And Its Implications For The Ideological And Political Education Of College Students

In the report of the 20 th Party Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed,"When the youth are strong,the country is strong.The youth of today’s China are born at the right time,and the stage for them to display their talents is immensely broad,and the prospect of realizing their dreams is immensely bright." Since the 18 th Party Congress,General Secretary Xi has repeatedly talked about youth on major occasions,affirmed the status of youth,clarified the direction of youth struggle,grasped the direction of youth thinking,and given full answers to the development of youth,gradually forming an education-oriented,practice-oriented Xi Jinping’s view of youth with unique Chinese characteristics.Xi Jinping’s view of youth is concentrated in the important speeches and discussions on youth and youth work made by General Secretary Xi Jinping since the 18 th Party Congress,systematically condensed in the precise decisions made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core for the growth of youth,and fully implemented in the practice of active youth education and thematic work.In the context of the new requirements of the times and educational reform,the spiritual connotations and values contained therein provide direction for innovative educational practice.While the ideological and political education of students today has achieved remarkable results,there are also many problems that need to be improved.Therefore,on the basis of the rich research results of scholars at home and abroad,we need to deeply explore the rich content and profound connotation of Xi Jinping’s youth outlook,so as to provide useful insights for the current ideological and political education work of university students.This paper systematically composes Xi Jinping’s speeches,reports and replies to letters on youth,in an effort to understand Xi’s important discussions on youth issues in a comprehensive and adequate manner.First,it takes the process of forming Xi Jinping’s view of youth as the starting point,and compares the theoretical basis,the contemporary background and the practical sources of Xi’s view of youth from three aspects.The focus is on the positive impact that the practical refinement of young Xi Jinping’s own growth has had on the youth of today.Secondly,the four dimensions of Xi Jinping’s view of youth,namely,youth cognition,youth mission,youth growth and success,and youth struggle,will provide value guidance for cultivating ideal,responsible,hard-working and striving youth of the times.Finally,on the basis of following the laws of ideological and political education and grasping the laws of youth growth and development,the study focuses on the fundamental question of "what kind of people to train,how to train them and for whom to train them".The path of Xi Jinping’s view on youth is explored,and the path of inspiration for the ideological and political education of college students is explored,which is to enhance the education capacity,optimize the ideological and political education objectives,enrich the ideological and political education contents,and stimulate the comprehensive development of youth.
