| Since the beginning of the human race,the activity of teaching has been accompanied by the emergence of educational discipline.By regulating students’ behavior,teachers can make them realize their mistakes,promote good behavior and moral cultivation,and make them learn to take responsibility for their faults and cultivate their sense of rules and responsibilities.However,since some time,teachers are more and more afraid to discipline students,which is constantly impacting the authority of educational discipline and is not conducive to the development of students’ sense of rules.In the context of comprehensively promoting the rule of law and implementing the fundamental task of establishing moral education,the Ministry of Education promulgated the Rules of Educational Discipline in Primary and Secondary Schools(for Trial Implementation)on December 23,2020,which brought educational discipline into the legal track and provided a basis for teachers to implement educational discipline.In combing through current domestic and international research on teachers’ implementation of educational discipline,the author finds that the existing literature has conducted certain studies on educational discipline policies and practical activities,which constitute an indispensable foundation and element of this study,but the current social opinion still keeps impacting on educational discipline and demonizing it.Therefore,the author takes Laozi’s management thought as an entry point and believes that his management wisdom and virtue cultivation can guide teachers in implementing educational discipline,break through the current dilemma of teachers’ implementation of educational discipline,and find a reasonable way out for teachers’ implementation of educational discipline.Through literature analysis,I found that Laozi’s management thought and teachers’ implementation of educational discipline have a high degree of compatibility: first,Laozi’s management thought focuses on the inner cultivation of human beings,and teachers’ implementation of educational discipline is to make students achieve the purpose of "cessation",so Laozi’s management thought helps educational discipline achieve its purpose;second,Laozi focuses on the cultivation of virtue,and in the context of Thirdly,Laozi emphasized the importance of people-centeredness,and the process of implementing educational discipline by teachers emphasizes student-centeredness and students’ demands.The author uses the case analysis method to conclude that the following problems exist in the current implementation of educational discipline by teachers: first,teachers’ perception of educational discipline is biased;second,schools do not give sufficient support to teachers in implementing educational discipline;third,teachers implement educational discipline arbitrarily,mainly because there is unfairness in discipline or the discipline is given over to students;fourth,teachers implement educational discipline with inappropriate intensity Fourthly,the teachers’ discipline is inappropriate,and there is the phenomenon of abuse and fear of using discipline.The reasons for this are the lack of clear and specific regulations on the concept of educational discipline;the need to improve the school educational discipline system;the need to improve teachers’ ability to implement educational discipline;and the bias of parents and mass media.Based on the theoretical basis of Laozi’s management thought,and combining the problems and causes of teachers’ implementation of educational discipline,we propose the inspiration of Laozi’s management thought on teachers’ implementation of educational discipline: First,the concept of educational discipline and the implementation details should be clearly formulated in laws and regulations,so that teachers’ implementation of educational discipline has legitimacy.Second,schools should actively improve their management philosophy to make the implementation of educational discipline by teachers more standardized.Third,teachers should have a correct understanding of educational discipline,so that disciplinary methods are more reasonable.Fourth,society and families should create a good disciplinary environment to maximize the effect of educational discipline by teachers. |
