| Research ObjectivesFor nearly 20 years,Chinese table tennis team has been the dominant team in the world, winning all major tournaments year after year.Since the 2008 Beijing Olympics,Chinese team has achieved the feat of winning four gold medals in three consecutive Olympic table tennis tournaments. But in the new table tennis mixed doubles event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,Chinese team lost for the first time, failing to win the first Olympic mixed doubles gold medal, and failing to achieve the goal of winning four consecutive Olympic gold medals. This is a pity for the national team, but for other countries it is a hope to compete for the gold medal in table tennis.Because this loss not only reflects that,in terms of personnel pairing, training methods, and scientific research means, there are still many shortcomings existing in China’s mixed doubles project, but also reflects that the future of the Chinese table tennis team in the mixed doubles project will face a more severe test. This paper aims to better study the technical and tactical characteristics of mixed doubles matches Under the theoretical framework of “Eight-round and three-stage method” and“Double-system five-stage appraisal method”,this paper proposes a more suitable statistical methodology in technique and tactics for mixed doubles matches based on the differences of gender in the match, and consequently provides references for Chinese double match players in diagnosing tactics.Research MethodBased on “Three-phase-index-evaluation”,“Eight-round and three-stage method”,and “Double-system and Four-round method” theories, this paper recorded the performance of top mixed double athletes and gathered data from the Tokyo Olympic Games, the 14 th National Games and the 2020 German Open Tennis Championships mixed doubles finals. And the data collected was analyzed in-depth by a great variety of methods, namely, expert interviews, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis and video observation.Results1.Based on previous literature, combined with expert interviews, this paper constructed “Double-system and four-round method”,a new apprasial methodology in technique and tactics.2.This paper testified the validity and effectiveness of “Double-system and four-round method” in comparison with “Three-phase-index-evaluation”,“Eight-round and three-stage method”.3.In practice,“Double-system and four-round method” had priority in the appraisal and analysis of mixed double matches compared with“Three-phase-index-evaluation”,“Eight-round and three-stage method”.4.Regular laws of mixed double matches were discovered under the guidance of“Double-system and four-round method”.Conclusions1.The "Double System Four-Round Method" is a useful supplement to the "Eight-Round Three-Stage Method" of table tennis doubles. It can satisfy the needs of mixed doubles players in terms of technique and tactics and provide a more comprehensive, detailed and quick analysis in technique and tactics.2." Double System Four-Round Method " can not only analyze mixed doubles players comprehensively, but also analyze their advantage and disadvantage rounds according to gender characteristics. At the same time,it can also summarize mixed double players’ application of technical and tactical methodology when they face different opponents.3.The regular laws of mixed doubles matches can be analyzed by the " Double System Four-Round Method " and the method can also be used to compare the technical and tactical characteristics of mixed doubles players to find out the general characteristics and individual differences of mixed doubles players in terms of technique and tactics, and hence provides theoretical references for trainers and athlete in designing scientific training program.. |
