In 2014,the Ministry of Education proposed a core literacy system for student development,shifting the goal of teaching from knowledge mastery to literacy development.How to implement core competencies in subject teaching has also become an important task of education.The "Curriculum Standards for High School Biology(2017 Edition,2020 Revision)" states that biology teaching activities should promote students to establish,understand,and apply concepts,indicating that the implementation of core competencies should be based on the establishment of scientific concepts.During the learning process,students are prone to developing misconceptions due to their own understanding and cognitive biases,which in turn affects the construction of the conceptual system.The POE(Predict Observe Explain)strategy in this study can guide students to predict and observe the causes of a biological phenomenon,intuitively perceive the differences between existing concepts and scientific concepts in their minds,stimulate cognitive conflicts,and autonomously understand the connotation of concepts.Therefore,the POE strategy is a potential way to transform misconceptions and construct scientific concepts.This study is guided by the theory of conceptual change,cognitive development theory,and meaningful learning theory.Firstly,a literature review was conducted on the research progress of misconceptions and POE strategies both domestically and internationally,demonstrating the feasibility of POE teaching strategies in transforming misconceptions.Secondly,through questionnaire and interview methods,it was found that the current status of POE strategy in teaching the transformation of misconceptions in high school teachers is not deep enough to pay attention to students’ misconceptions,and there is a lack of accurate understanding of the types and causes of misconceptions.Once again,develop a four paragraph measurement questionnaire on "Material Input and Output of Cells" to explore students’ misconceptions and analyze their causes,which mainly include:(1)being influenced by life experience and lacking autonomy in learning methods,(3)insufficient knowledge reserves and one-sided understanding of concepts,and(4)insufficient emphasis on biology.Through the above survey,we aim to understand the situation of students’ misconceptions and find a starting point for the application of POE strategy in misconception transformation teaching.Then,summarize the application principles of the three teaching links of POE strategy,and construct the implementation process of POE teaching strategy,based on which to design the teaching cases of passive transport and Active Transport and endocytosis and exocytosis.Finally,two homogeneous classes were selected for educational experimental research in a senior high school in Jinan.A control class and an experimental class were randomly set up,with the control class using traditional teaching methods and the experimental class using POE strategy for teaching.After the teaching practice is completed,the experimental effect is evaluated based on the scores of the concept test questions in each section and the learning experience of the POE strategy of the experimental class students.The results showed that the effect of the experimental class on the transformation of misconceptions was better than that of the control class,and the acceptance of POE strategy by the experimental class students was good,indicating the effectiveness of POE strategy in the teaching of misconception transformation.This study confirms that applying POE strategy to high school biology teaching can effectively transform students’ misconceptions,and compared to traditional teaching methods,POE strategy can endow students with higher autonomy and classroom participation,improving the efficiency of scientific concept construction.At the same time,this study also enriches the relevant research on the transformation of misconceptions in teaching,expands the application scope of POE strategies,and provides reference for frontline teachers in transforming students’ misconceptions.
