| Emergent Curriculum is a method of mother tongue education for children which has been widely used at China and abroad.Thematic-based Approach is not only a common teaching method in the Emergent Curriculum,but also a common teaching method in international Chinese education,and has been widely used.Teachers try to add the concept of Emergent Curriculum to the oral Chinese teaching of children in international schools,and use the concept of Emergent Curriculum to guide the topic selection and activity development in the Thematic-based Approach.This paper tries to research children’s Chinese development under the background of three languages by observing several thematic activities in the Emergent Curriculum.Whether Emergent Curriculum,which promotes language acquisition by helping children’s cognitive development,can be as effective as native language learners in improving their language.Exploring the system of Emergent Curriculum,which is biased towards children’s cognitive ability,can be effectively combined with Chinese teaching to provide effective support and help for improving children’s oral Chinese ability in international schools.Children’s ability to recognize words is the basis of their memory and use of words.International Chinese teaching in international schools requires teachers to grasp the rules of children’s physical and mental development,know children’s language background and language environment,as well as their cognitive ability and cognitive level.In curriculum design and classroom arrangement,students’ interests,teaching materials and activity resources are matched to create an overall environment for the use of Chinese vocabulary,and ultimately promote the common progress of children’s language and cognitive development.By summarizing students’ learning of Chinese vocabulary,this paper provides some references for course selection,instructional design and activity design for Chinese teaching of children in international schools,and also provides references for theme selection of Chinese teaching in the future. |
