With the development of society,it has become a trend of education reform to cultivate high-quality innovative talents,but innovative talents cannot do without the cultivation of critical thinking.Critical thinking can help students quickly identify and obtain useful information,and promote students to constantly conduct self-criticism and reflection.According to the Curriculum Standards of Biology for Senior High Schools(2017edition,2020 revision),critical thinking is a component of scientific thinking in the core literacy of biology.Critical thinking is the requirement of biology curriculum reform and an important condition for cultivating high quality talents with all-round development of morality,intelligence,body and labor.For the cultivation of critical thinking,many researchers have tried to adopt a variety of teaching modes to cultivate students’ critical thinking.The PAD class is the original teaching mode proposed by Professor Xuexin Zhang,which includes teaching,internalization and absorption,and discussion and exchange.Teaching is to explain the framework,key points and difficulties of knowledge.Internalization and absorption is to learn independently,think independently,summarize problems and complete homework after class.Discussion is to show and exchange learning results and difficulties together.Divided classroom has been widely used in different subjects of different learning segments,but the relationship and influence between PAD class and critical thinking in the teaching of biology remains to be further studied.This study mainly applies the PAD class in high school biology teaching to explore the influence of PAD class on students’ critical thinking.In order to enrich relevant teaching theories,guide high school biology teaching practice,and expand the strategy and method of cultivating students’ critical thinking in biology teachingThis study investigates the current situation of high school students’ critical thinking and teachers’ cultivation of students’ critical thinking by means of questionnaire survey and interview.According to the analysis of the current situation,combined with the curriculum standards of biology,the experimental research method is used to study the application effect of the classroom teaching model and the influence on students’ critical thinking.Through the research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The survey on the current situation of critical thinking of high school students shows that students generally present positive critical thinking tendency,but a few students are in a weak or contradictory state.Students scored poorly on dimensions such as truth finding,systematization and confidence in critical thinking.It shows that some senior high school students have weak consciousness of thinking independently and actively seeking answers to questions.Problem solving is not rigorous,lack of organization;Seldom express doubts and problems actively in classroom learning.In addition,there is no significant difference in critical thinking between male and female students,that is,the development of critical thinking has nothing to do with gender.(2)Interviews show that teachers do not know much about critical thinking.Due to the pressure of the college entrance examination,the class schedule is less,and students have been used to the teaching-oriented learning mode,passively accept knowledge,and have no time for discussion,and have serious insufficient opportunities to think independently,raise questions and express opinions.Teachers should encourage students to take the initiative to learn,to ask questions boldly,and to arouse critical awareness.(3)For the application of PAD class,it is necessary to follow the principles of blank space,power and responsibility division,subjectivity and multiple evaluation.Before the implementation,it is necessary to fully mobilize students,allocate team members and do a good job in the preliminary preparation,carefully design the teaching process,the detailed content should be appropriate,and the class discussion should control the time and classroom discipline.Through the evaluation of the effect of the PAD class,the students think that the divided class can promote thinking,through reading notes "light examination help" homework,help students to consolidate,summarize and summarize relevant knowledge in time,through class discussion,enhance the sense of team cooperation and expression and communication ability,which can be further popularized.(4)In terms of the study on the influence of class on students’ critical thinking,through the teaching practice of nearly one semester,the experimental class’ s critical thinking score is generally higher than that of the control class,and there is obvious progress in truth searching,analytical ability and cognitive maturity,and the experimental class’ s mastery of biological knowledge is better than that of the control class.
