Research On The Choreography Arrangement With Collaboration In Groups Of Rhythmic Gymnastics Under The New Code Of Point

After the Tokyo Olympic Games,International Federation of Gymnastics has claimed new requirements for rhythmic gymnastics for the next four-year development and adjusted its scoring system.2022-2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics Code of Points has been published in March 2022.In new rules,Difficulty with Collaborations(DC)has been modified: The number of DC has been limited.The way of completing in DC has be modified(CC、C↗↗、C↓↓、CR、CL).Each DC’s value and form have been changed.New type of CL has been added in.Variations in extra points with different types of DC were included.Based on the latest version of Code of Points,the objective of this study is to provide reasonable and practical suggestions for choreography of groups’ DC of rhythmic gymnastics in the next four years.To achieve this,comprehensive analysis of changing patterns,values,forms and extra points and strategies in choreography of the best 8 teams in 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship has been performed.Methodologies including literature reviews,interviews of experts,observation of videos and statistical analysis were applied in this research.Main conclusions are listed as followings:1.Improving single DC’s value could determine the total score in new rules.The score of collaborative difficulty in the top eight teams in the set is significantly correlated with the total score of the set(R2 = 0.68,p < 0.05),suggesting that higher the total score of collaborative difficulty is,the higher the final total score.The arrangement of collaborative difficulty of each team increases the score arrangement of a single collaborative difficulty as much as possible within the quantitative requirements.Improving the quality becomes the key factor in the breakthrough of collaborative difficulty’s score as the number is not allowed to increase.2.CL account for a small proportion in all under the new rules.Due to the limitation of number and score,the number of CL collaboration difficulty types accounted for only 8.6% of the total number of 58 sets of all teams,and this collaborative difficulty was abandoned by most teams after carefully considering about pros and cons as well as balance of scores of the arrangements of sets.3.“Additional criteria” become increasingly crucial in DC’s choreography in the new Code of Points.“Additional criteria” becomes the most important part in choreographic difficulty in the new rule for collaboration action.Among the top eight teams,two equipment accounted for 68% of the total 16 sets,accounting for about 2/3 of the total collaborative action orchestration score.The world’s high-level teams revealed a preference for multi-choreographed “additional criteria” in the choreographic strategy of collaborative actions.Therefore,suggestions are listed as followings:Innovative orchestration concept.We must dare to step out of our comfort zone and choose more original collaborative actions while enhancing personal skills.Emphasis on multitechnology development.A large number of high value and novel bonuses are reserved to enrich the choreography of collaborative actions in the set,boldly realize the freedom of diversified and difficult "additional criteria",and be sure that they can be completed in the competition.Improving the comprehensive physical quality of athletes,making it competent for the bonus requirements of multiple types of collaboration in the package,and meeting the criteria for extra points.
