Research On The Present Situation And Sustainable Development Of Pen-hold Grip Of Table Tennis In China

Table tennis can be divided into the straight and horizontal strokes from the grip.As a traditional play in China,the pen-hold play has the advantages of flexible service,changeable ball handling in the stage and more active in the first three boards compared with the horizontal play.Chinese pen-hold players have made excellent achievements in the development of table tennis and made great contributions to the development of table tennis in China.However,due to certain defects in the pen-hold play,with the continuous development and innovation of table tennis technology,the pen-hold play of table tennis in China has encountered great difficulties and is difficult to achieve satisfactory results.The number of players using the pen-hold play has gradually decreased,and the pen-hold play has been marginalized.This study takes China’s pen-hold shot technique as the research object,and uses the methods of literature,expert interview method,video observation,logical analysis,mathematical statistics and other methods to comprehensively analyze the evolution and current situation of China’s pen-hold shot technique as well as the technology of China’s excellent pen-hold shot athletes,to find out the advantages and disadvantages of China’s pen-hold shot technique,and then provide scientific theoretical basis for China’s pen-hold shot technique.The results show that:(1)The racquet style is more flexible when receiving shots,and has stronger initiative when attacking than the racquet style.However,in the standoff between the mid and long stages,the racquet style is at a disadvantage in the confrontation with the racquet style.After retreating from the stage,the racquet style has significantly weaker backhand strength and speed compared to the racquet style.(2)The traditional direct shot technique lacks the ability to actively attack,making it difficult to pose a threat when dealing with underspin balls.In the face of the horizontal shot technique,the tactic of suppressing backhands is at a disadvantage.The birth of the direct and horizontal shot technique solved the problem of the backhand not being able to actively create arcs and exert force,giving the athletes the ability to take the initiative to lift the backhand and continuously attack in the backhand position.(3)After a series of reforms in rules and equipment made by the International Table Tennis Federation,the rotational speed and movement speed of the ball in table tennis competitions have significantly decreased,and the number of rounds in table tennis has increased.The advantage of serving the ball in the pen-hold style has been weakened,and the difficulty of solving battles in the first three boards has increased.This has put forward higher requirements for the strength and speed of the pen-hold style players in hitting the ball.(4)The selection of materials for the penhold technique is difficult,and there is a lack of reserve talents for the penhold technique in table tennis in China.Compared to the horizontal shot technique,table tennis players have higher requirements for their strength,speed,endurance,and other qualities.In their youth and youth,table tennis players have weaker strength,and choosing the direct shot technique will encounter more difficulties.Suggestion:(1)Chinese table tennis players who use the direct stroke technique in their training should improve their forehand killing power,strengthen their ability to hold each other off in the middle and far stages,increase their practice of multiple combined attacks,and improve the stability and continuity of the pull ball.(2)Chinese table tennis players using the direct and horizontal strokes should increase the use of the technique during training and competition,improve the quality of the technique,and continuously improve the stability of the technique.(3)Chinese table tennis players who use the pen-hold technique should try their best to choose forehand attack when actively using the forehand to give full play to the advantages of the pen-hold technique.In training and competition,when dealing with receiving serve,try to use forehand pick and "forehand twist" techniques more frequently,and continuously improve the "forehand twist" technique.(4)We should attach great importance to the selection of table tennis players using the pen-hold technique,issue relevant documents to increase the importance of pen-hold technique,and enrich the reserve of reserve talents for table tennis using the pen-hold technique in China.
