China Internet Network Information Center(CNNIC)released the 50 th Statistical Report on the Development of Internet in China(hereinafter referred to as the Report)in Beijing on August 31,2022.According to the Report,as of June 2022,the number of Internet users in China was 1.051 billion,and the Internet penetration rate reached 74.4%.In the era of new media,it has become the norm for people to express their thoughts and views on the social phenomena and emergencies they are concerned about through the Internet."The essence of a person is the sum of all social relationships." Its sociality cannot exist independently,and people can also be influenced by their surroundings anytime and anywhere.The popularity of the Internet has accelerated the process of information globalization and cultural diversification.As a product of the highly developed information society,network public opinion has deeply affected the formation and development of college students’ values.College students are in a critical period of value construction,and as creators and influencers of online public opinion,their value education has attracted more and more attention from society and universities.Therefore,based on the current development situation of online public opinion,this article conducts research on how to fully exert its positive impact and timely avoid its negative impact on college students’ values,helping college students consciously overcome the impact of negative online public opinion and establish correct values.From the perspective of ideological and political education,this paper comprehensively uses the literature research method,case analysis method,comparative analysis method,questionnaire survey method,etc.,takes the impact of online public opinion on college students’ values as the research object,explains relevant concepts and theories,and deeply analyzes the current situation of the impact of online public opinion on college students’ values,and the causes of the negative impact of online public opinion on college students’ values,Take relevant suggestions and countermeasures to eliminate the negative impact of online public opinion on college students’ values as the foothold,and then help college students establish correct values to cope with negative public opinion.This paper mainly includes four parts,as follows:The first chapter is the premise of the study.Starting from the basic elements of the research object of this article,using the relevant theories of communication science and ideological and political education environment theory as the theoretical basis,it mainly explores the concept and characteristics of online public opinion,the connotation,role,and characteristics of college students’ values..It demonstrates and analyzes the characteristics of network public opinion,such as concealment,rapidity and diversity,as well as the guiding role,reflection role and orientation role of college students’ values,which provides theoretical basis and conceptual basis for further exploring the impact of network public opinion on college students’ values.The second chapter is the basis of the study.Analyze the current situation based on the questionnaire.First of all,through the release of questionnaires,analyze and summarize the current situation and characteristics of college students’ values under the influence of online public opinion,with the main characteristics of personalization,diversification,reality,etc.Secondly,the impact of online public opinion on college students’ values is analyzed in two parts,starting with positive public opinion and negative public opinion respectively,and demonstrated with examples.The impact of positive public opinion on college students’ values is mainly manifested in: broadening college students’ value choice path,leading college students’ moral value orientation,and improving college students’ value judgment;The impact of negative public opinion on college students’ values is mainly manifested as:causing college students’ value target deviation,disturbing college students’ value selection criteria,and causing college students’ value practice to be irrational.This also paves the way for the follow-up.The third chapter is the core content of the study.This paper mainly analyzes the causes of the negative impact of network public opinion on college students’ values from the three levels of society,universities and individuals,reveals the internal mechanism and laws,and provides practical reference for better eliminating the impact of negative network public opinion on college students’ values.The social reasons are as follows: multicultural collision dispels the leading power of ideals and beliefs,self-media profit-seeking drives college students to weaken their sense of responsibility,and the loopholes in network public opinion supervision promote negative public opinion to "fly";The main reasons at the university level are: some universities are not sufficiently concerned about the harm of public opinion events,some educators have simple methods to deal with negative online public opinion,and the construction of a new front for online ideological and political education in universities still needs to be strengthened;The personal reasons can be summarized as follows: the lack of network media literacy among college students,the urgent need to strengthen their network ethics,and the weakening of their sense of network responsibility.The fourth chapter is the foothold of the study.From a multi-dimensional perspective,put forward countermeasures and suggestions to eliminate the impact of negative network public opinion on college students’ values.It mainly includes the following three aspects:purifying and building a harmonious network public opinion ecological environment,optimizing college students’ value education by using network public opinion,and strengthening college students’ self-education under network public opinion.In the face of the dual impact of online public opinion on college students’ values,it is necessary to actively strengthen students’ ideological guidance,positively enhance the positive impact of online public opinion,specifically address and eliminate the impact of negative online public opinion on college students’ values,and guide college students to form correct value judgments and value choices in the process of using the network.
