Internet public opinion has become considerably more influential among university students.Without proper guidance or corresponding supervision,the scale of unwanted effect would grow.Therefore,universities should reinforce rational monitoring of Internet public opinion,and help students build proper life values at the same time.Being able to cope with Internet public opinion is one crucial step for students to learn to distinguish between black and white in both real life and the world of Internet.College Internet public opinion has the characteristics of Internet public opinion,but more specific because of its distinctiveness.College teachers and students engage in online activities asmain participants.They converge and strengthen opinions and interests,regarding particular university or higher education,that have a large scale and major impact mainly on the Internet.Besides the essential characteristics of Internet public opinion,college Internet opinion also has characteristics like larger scale of influence,higher attention level,similarity in the background of participants,specificity of reasons behind incidents,etc.Currently the main external factors that could possibly induce college Internet public opinion are the great number of social conflicts related to higher education,the general interests in them,and the deficiency ofInternet monitoring.The internal factors are significant diversion of the pursuit in individual benefits,individuals' strong will of self-expression,and strong conscious of social participation.College Internet public opinion has a great impact on ideological and political education,and it poses some huge challenges.First,the content of traditional ideological and political education is not adaptive to coordinate with the changing and developing Internet public opinion.Second,the approaches towards certain education is not confront how college Internet public opinion spreads.Third,the out-dated management of ideological and political education cannot cope with patternless college Internet public opinion.The reason behind these challenges is the inconsistency between the relative stability,obsoleteness,and strict standards of ideological and political education,and the mobility,advance,and specificity of internet public opinion.Comparably,the college ideological and political education is out-dated and not innovative enough in both its content and approach.With an objective to face the challenge and influences which college Internet public opinion poses,ideological and political should be definite with foundational strategies in order to adhere to principles such as political principles,people-oriented principles,and issue-oriented principles.It should reinforce ideal and faith in education,keep people informed of conditions of their country,and make legal education more learner-oriented.It should ameliorate traditional education approaches,perfect and utilize exemplification,demonstration,practice,comparison and identification.Also,in correspondence to the developmental process of college Internet public opinion,education and management plans should be made,and guidance departments and organisations should be established beforehand.During the process,leadership should be reinforced.In addition,summarisation should be done afterwards.As an important part of the society,the prospects of college students are significantly influential to the development of the society.It is desirable that through ideological and political education,we can be able to guide college Internet public opinion towards a bright way and allow it to prompt positive impacts.
