The According to the data of the seventh national census,in 2020,China’s permanent urban population will be 901.99 million, the floating population will reach376 million, and the elderly population above 60 will reach 264.02 million, which is expected to deepen the aging degree in the future. The emergence of rural migrant parents is caused by the strong family concept, coupled with the adjustment of the universal two-child and three-child policy, more and more rural migrant parents move to the city where their children live to support their children, whose purpose is to support their children’s career and take care of their grandchildren, which makes most of the elderly people have a fundamental change from temporary to stable normal. It will also cause them to face a lot of problems in the place where they move.In this paper,a total of 39 rural accompanying parents suffering from anxiety and depression were preliminarily screened by using questionnaire survey and interview to obtain relevant data of W community rural accompanying parents.Through analysis,it is found that the anxiety and depression of rural accompanying parents in W community are mainly manifested in physical and psychological aspects, and the causes of anxiety and depression are mainly personal factors, family factors and community factors.Such as physical health status, economic income level, sense of self-worth,differences in lifestyle and consumption concept of family members, differences in intergenerational parenting ideas and the lack of channels for community to build new peer group support.Based on this, based on the empowerment theory and the social support theory, this paper selected the research objects according to the interview method, the self-rating anxiety scale and the self-rating depression scale.A total of 8 research objects were selected, and the rural parents with anxiety and depression problems were formed into a horticulture treatment group, with a total of 6 activities. The author used the anxiety and depression scale to test 8 subjects before and after they participated in the activity, and compared the data of rural accompanying parents before and after the activity to analyze the intervention effect. The results showed that the horticultural therapy group could effectively improve the anxiety and depression of rural accompanying parents. Finally, the author reflects on the shortcomings of the research, and provides effective suggestions for relieving the anxiety and depression of rural migrant parents,as well as practical experience for future research in this field.
