A Study On The Tradition Of "Beating" In Modern Sichuan Wushu

This study is a case study on the tradition of "Beating" in Sichuan Wushu.Through in-depth interviews,participation in observation and historical analysis,the author introduces the research specialty of historical anthropology into traditional national sports.This study through the development of Sichuan martial arts since modern times,the three typical martial arts fighting cases of Qiang Shou,Da Jing Zhang,Rongcheng Challenge Competition,The author believes that the tradition of "beating " does exist in Sichuan martial arts,and traces back the cause of the tradition and the background of The Times,and tries to restore the reality of "Beating" scene.Finally,this paper reviews the inheritance and evolution of the tradition of "beating" in Sichuan martial arts since modern times,and explores the significance of "Beating" to martial arts(people),officials and ordinary people.Therefore,this study is aimed at responding to the current public’s cognitive deviation and questioning on martial arts fighting,and making up for the fact that there are more abstract studies on martial arts fighting and insufficient concrete studies in the academic circle,It has positive significance in providing historical mirror for the present folk wushu competition.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:Firstly,Sichuan Wushu has a tradition of "Beating".Through the investigation and analysis of the three typical cases in the development course of Sichuan Wushu since modern times,namely "Qiang Shou" "Da Jing Zhang" and "Rongcheng Challenge Competition",it was found to have "a certain continuity between generations and between one historical stage and another,The traditional characteristics of mobility,change,joint innovation and real-time renewal,Therefore,the author thinks that there is a tradition of "Beating" in Sichuan Wushu since modern times.Secondly,there is a long history of the competition tradition,but the formation of the ring competition tradition is relatively recent.According to the interviews and historical data analysis,the private Qiang Shou of Sichuan martial arts existed at least before modern times and had been circulating among the Sichuan folk.In fact,the challenge competition tradition of Sichuan Wushu was not formed until the Republic of China period,which was considered "historical" and passed down and remembered by members of the society.Thirdly,Since modern times,the tradition of Qiang Shou has not broken,but it has experienced the transmutation of weakening of tactics,however,the tradition of Da Jing Zhang not only came into being late,but also experienced a period of nearly three decades in the process of development,however,this tradition was not completely broken,but was rebuilt,reformed and updated at the right time under the guidance of "diachronic borrowing" and "synchronic displacement" logic mode.Fourly,The real "Beating" scene is not exciting and fierce,and there is no so-called "Jianxian Qixia" appearance.In private,each other to walk "test" occupy the vast majority of the time,a few short physical confrontation can be separated from the winner;There are some amazing performances on stage,but in most of the scenes,such as "cockfighting",it is difficult to tell which faction the contestants belong to and which tactics they use.Fifthly,Since modern times,the development of traditional sports words of Sichuan martial arts "Beating" is its internal logic and inevitable trend.Both the private competition and the open arena competition gradually draw closer to the modern sports competition in the form of competition,competition rules and value orientation,and show a standardized and orderly development trend.
