The results of the eighth national student physique and health survey recently released by the Ministry of Education show that "the rate of reaching the physical health standard of college students has declined as a whole",and the negative emotions among college students are also spreading, from "Buddhism" to "lying flat" and then to "putting out rot." This situation runs counter to the connotation of human capital accumulation in the construction of a modern power.Research has shown that regularly engaging in leisure sports activities is beneficial for promoting the physical and mental health development of college students,so improving the level of leisure sports activities among college students may effectively improve the current situation.Although dormitories are known as the "first society, second family, and third classroom" of contemporary college students, the impact of peer effects on college students’ leisure sports activities in dormitory settings is still uncertain. In view of this, this study uses literature review, questionnaire survey, interview, mathematical statistics and other research methods, takes the influence of roommate peer effect on college students’ leisure sports activities as the research object, and Huangshan University as the empirical research point,to explore the performance and causes of the influence of roommate peer effect on college students’ leisure sports activities, and provide inspiration and reference for improving the level of college students’ leisure sports activities. The conclusions drawn from the study are as follows:1.The roommate peer effect has the characteristics of high degree, strong stability, and high consistency in the impact of leisure sports activities on college students, and the overall performance is that "those who are close to the red are even more prominent".2.The roommate peer effect has a significant heterogeneous impact on college students’ leisure sports activities, including gender heterogeneity, individual heterogeneity, and roommate selection heterogeneity. The performance is as follows:roommate sports companions have a significant negative impact on girls’ leisure sports activities, but have no significant impact on the male group; For the student group with smaller activity volume, the roommate peer effect shows a significant "red" and "black" effect, but has no significant impact on the student group with higher leisure sports activity volume;Randomly assigned roommates have a significant positive impact on college students’ leisure sports activities, but self-selected roommates have a more significant negative impact on their leisure sports activities.3.Although the participation of college students in leisure sports has improved,it is still not optimistic. The problems include low motivation for participation, lack of sports skills, low consumption level, insufficient participation stickiness, and alienation of leisure environment.Based on the above conclusions, this article proposes the following suggestions:1.Establishing norms of physical education behavior in universities can effectively enhance students’ active compliance with high-activity roommates. The specific path includes two levels: firstly, the formulation and implementation of policy standards at the macro level.Secondly,at the micro level, the construction of leisure sports culture in universities.2.Reasonable dormitory distribution is an effective means to enhance the marginal revenue of students’ sports participation.Allocating students with different projects and levels of participation to the same dormitory is most beneficial for improving their overall level of leisure sports participation.3.Strengthen leisure education and highlight the leisure function of university sports.
