Abstract/Summary:
The Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)(hereafter referred to as "the Standards")set out the core literacies that should be formed and developed in mathematics education.At junior secondary level,the main focus is on developing students’ reasoning skills.The Curriculum also emphasises that developing students’ reasoning skills helps them to develop argumentative and logical thinking habits,and to develop a scientific attitude and rational spirit of seeking truth from facts.The GeoGebra platform,with its dynamic presentation,easy operation and combination of numbers and shapes,can effectively help students to make inductive conjectures and verify proofs,and can effectively support the psychological mechanism of the formation of mathematical reasoning ability of junior secondary school students.Therefore,this study will focus on the learning area of "Graphics and Geometry" in junior high school mathematics teaching and learning,and explore effective strategies for developing mathematical reasoning skills of junior high school students supported by the GeoGebra platform,so as to provide reference for frontline mathematics teachers to develop students’ reasoning skills.This study firstly defines the concepts of reasoning and mathematical reasoning ability,compares the current situation of domestic and international research on the composition of reasoning ability,the formation mechanism of mathematical reasoning ability of junior secondary school students,the evaluation of reasoning ability and the development of reasoning ability,analyses the research on the application of GeoGebra to mathematics teaching,and provides a theoretical basis for the design of reasoning ability development strategies in this study.Secondly,this study systematically analyses the teaching of "Graphics and Geometry" in junior high school mathematics and the role of the GeoGebra platform in the development of reasoning skills.This study is based on the current situation and problems of reasoning ability development of students in the experimental classes,and provides a basis for the design of reasoning ability development strategies.The strategies were designed to create dynamic contexts,to investigate and operate independently,and to communicate and demonstrate,and the application process was proposed.The final result is a more complete strategy for developing the mathematical reasoning skills of junior high school students supported by the GeoGebra platform.The results of the study show that students in the experimental class improved their overall reasoning ability level and the level of each dimension of reasoning ability,and that the mathematical reasoning ability development strategy supported by the GeoGebra platform for junior secondary students can effectively develop students’ mathematical reasoning ability.In the application of the strategy,attention should be paid to giving students sufficient time for thinking and flexibly adjusting the time allocation for learning tasks according to the teaching content so as not to delay the teaching progress.
