| A thousand years of foundation,talent for this.A thousand years of great work,talent for the first.Twenty ten reports pointed out that strengthening the modernization of talent support,education,science and technology,talent is the comprehensive construction of a socialist modernization of the country’s basic,strategic support.University teachers and students are the important research force in China and play an important cornerstone role in talent support.However,existing studies show that the research behavior of graduate students is not satisfactory and the quality of graduate training needs to be further improved.How to motivate graduate students’ research behaviors from university,faculty and students levels is an important issue before educators.Based on the triadic interaction determinism,self-efficacy theory and achievement motivation theory,and combined with the current situation of postgraduate education and cultivation in China,the core research question is: What is the connection between university innovation climate and graduate students research behaviors? To this end,the study analyzes the paths and influencing factors,and proposes the following four research hypotheses based on the previous literature: the university innovation climate positively predicts the research behavior of graduate students;the sense of creative selfefficacy plays a mediating role between the university innovation climate and the research behavior of graduate students;achievement motivation plays a mediating role between the university innovation climate and the research behavior of graduate students;the university innovation climate plays a mediating role through the chain of creative self-efficacy and achievement motivation.The chain mediation of sense of efficacy and achievement motivation influences graduate student research behavior.In order to test the above hypotheses and answer the core questions of the study,quantitative and qualitative studies are conducted in this study.First,a questionnaire survey is conducted on the university innovation climate,graduate students’ research behavior,creative self-efficacy,achievement motivation and demographic variables,and statistical analyses such as measurement model test,analysis of variance,structural model test and Shapley value decomposition are conducted on 612 valid questionnaires with the help of SPSS,Smart-PLS and Stata software.Second,a total of 16 graduate students from different schools and disciplines are In-depth interviews are conducted with a total of 16 master’s degree students from different schools and disciplines to further understand how variables affect graduate students’ research behavior,whether there are other important factors that affect graduate students’ research behavior,to analyze the logical relationships behind the factors,to analyze the deeper reasons behind students’ research behavior,and to explore the mechanism of the effect of influencing graduate students’ research behavior.Combining the quantitative and qualitative findings,this study draws the following main conclusions: 1.The university innovation climate,willingness to study for a Ph D and graduation requirements directly affect research behavior;2.The university innovation climate not only affects research behavior through the separate mediation of creative self-efficacy and achievement motivation,respectively,but also works through the chain mediation of creative self-efficacy and achievement motivation;3.The contribution of the five dimensions of university innovation climate to explainable variation differs within disciplines and schools,with resource accessibility and learning autonomy having the greatest impact on explainable variation;4.The contribution of mentor support and university philosophy to the research behavior of graduate students in science and technology and "double first-class" universities is higher;5.The contribution of student support to the research behavior of graduate students is lower.To this end,this study proposes suggestions at three levels: universities,teachers and students,which are to broaden the way of scientific research cultivation and optimize the research incentive system of graduate students;teachers improve the mentor support system and build the mentoring team;students increase their learning autonomy and improve the research experience of graduate students. |
