| With the advent of the era of commercial 5G services in China, the virtual reality(VR)industry is rapidly developing, and VR technology is gaining wide popularity.Users can obtain a more immersive and realistic experience using VR devices.Nevertheless,VR devices still need to be improved, and problems such as the cognitive impairment of interface interaction and other issues relating to cognitive load should be solved.User interface(UI),the medium of communication between users and computers,is the core of human-computer interaction. Therefore, the UI design quality is one of the critical factors in measuring user experience. The question of how to take advantage of VR products and provide users with high-quality interaction experiences is worth exploring.VR application(app)store is the platform carrying VR apps.It can provide users with purchases,after-sale services, channels for social communications.Hence,it is necessary and feasible to start the research on optimizing user experience by studying VR app stores. In reference to the cognitive load theory, this thesis points out the deficiencies of the current research on the usability of UI design and its impact on cognition during the development of VR.Using HTC VIVE head-mounted display devices, this research comprehensively analyzes the features of the VR UI design and the impact of users’cognitive loads on it,proposing the application strategy and framework for VR UI design. This thesis is divided into five parts.Part 1 summarizes the current status of studies on VR systems and cognitive load theories.Limitations of current studies, especially the lack of exploration of issues of cognitive loads associated with VR UI design are analyzed and pointed out.Part 2 conducted a user experience survey on the VR app store through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research, and generated user behavior motivation and behavior models, user models and demand models.Part 3 sorts out and summarizes the relevant research on cognitive load theory, uses self-report to extract the cognitive load factors of VR app store, uses task performance to explore the method of information architecture, and obtains the cognitive load factors are matched to the perspectives of internal cognitive load, external cognitive load and related cognitive load, and finally generate a design principle model.Part 4 applies the research results to the UI design, proposes a method of page transition of modal and non-modal interface and verifies its usability by conducting the user experience evaluation, usability testing and cognitive load testing. The research results can serve as a reference for the construction of methods of VR UI design. This research can improve the level of user experience design of VR app store. It has theoretical value and practical significance. |
