On The Symbolic Production And Discourse Governance Of The Phenomenon Of “Polarized Language” In Online Community

The anonymity,openness and immediacy of the Internet make the public feel free to blame the public.There are various language polarization phenomena such as abusive words,stigmatization,harsh,extreme and satire in the ubiquitous discourse expression.The use and dissemination of network polarized language is easy to become a trend of proliferation and breed network violence.The emotional runaway brought by polarized language leads to the runaway of public opinion,populism and nationalism,resulting in the tearing of the community and the increasingly obvious negative impact on social stability and the healthy development of network ecology.The two sessions of the National People’s Congress and the National People’s Congress in 2022 were held from March 4 to March 11.Several members discussed many topics,such as the rule of law on the Internet,the construction of network ethics,group polarization and so on.It can be seen that network language,network expression and network order have attracted much attention.Discussing the network social polarization language expression is of great significance for the network ecological governance and the construction of a rational network public opinion environment.This paper studies polarized language from an interdisciplinary perspective,and analyzes it from the perspective of youth subculture,combined with the theories of emotional sociology,public opinion politics,Cultural Populism,interactive ritual theory,rhetoric,applied linguistics,social psychology and other disciplines.Firstly,taking the network social polarization language as the research object,this paper summarizes the concept and types of the current network social polarization language.This paper probes into the era motivation of the emergence of network polarized language from four aspects: society,culture,events and subject.The study concludes that network polarized language has the positive function of hiding public opinion and politics,venting emotions and alleviating social pressure,but it also has the negative function of network violence and network populism.At the same time,it also has the potential function of tearing the field of official public opinion and the field of folk public opinion.Secondly,this paper focuses on the production and out of circle of polarized language in network public opinion events,and analyzes the emotional production mechanism and dissemination mobilization of polarized language from three aspects:symbol production,discourse out of circle and intersubjectivity.The characteristics of the production of polarized language symbols are mainly memetics,rhetorical markedness,multimodal discourse characteristics,etc.after the production of symbols,the real emergence of polarized discourse is reflected in three aspects: the resonance of sympathy and anger,the emotional catharsis of network interconnection,and the emotional energy of network team.Finally,it analyzes the harm,good governance and guidance of network social polarization language.The research shows that the harm of network polarized language is reflected in the damage of network mutual pollution to communication rationality,the damage of language pollution to the purity of modern Chinese,and the tear of populism to the social community.The author puts forward the Governance Countermeasures of polarized language good governance and guidance from the perspective of government,platform,media and netizens.The result we expect is not to strangle polarized language in the online world,but to guide it to benign development and play its positive function.
