A Study On The Languages Expression Strategies And Skills Of Radio Hotline Program Hosts

Radio hotline programs involve listeners communicating with hosts and program guests over the phone.The audience’s purpose is to inquire about certain issues or seek some help from the hosts and program guests.There are many types of radio hotline programs,and combined with the unique characteristics of the broadcasting media,these programs stand out among many types of radio programs and are widely praised by the audience.The host receives calls from the audience within a limited time and analyzes or cooperates with guests to solve their problems during the program.This is a major highlight of the program,but it is also a major challenge.Due to the fact that most radio programs are live broadcasts,audience issues are difficult to predict and audience quality is difficult to balance.In addition,the topics involved in hotline programs are related to people’s lives,which inevitably involve the presentation of personal values.The program content has a continuous impact on the audience’s awareness guidance and social harmony and stability,thus bringing certain difficulties to the host to manage such programs.Through analyzing the current research status in China,most scholars focus on the study of language expression strategies,with the main focus on the skills of hosts’ vocal language.They consider hotline radio programs as a whole,and have not delved into the host’s language expression strategies and skills.Therefore,this article is mainly based on the graduation work of Xinjiang Radio and Television Station’s daily program "Buy a House and Listen to Me",And based on the theoretical knowledge of linguistics,psychology,and other theories,this article analyzes the psychological factors between the host and the connecting person,the connecting person and the general audience,and the host and the general audience,and incorporates them into the micro context for examination.The language expression of the hotline program host is divided into three macro stages,using my graduation work as the corpus,With the assistance of excellent domestic broadcasting hotline programs,this study aims to explore the language expression strategies and skills of hosts in order to find the basic rules of vocal language expression in hotline program hosts.The aim is to improve the quality of broadcasting hotline programs,provide reference for frontline hosts’ vocal language expression,and meet the social functions of disseminating information,leading public opinion,and educating the public in the mass dissemination of broadcasting hotline programs.
