With the improvement of memory chip performance,the data transmission speed is getting higher and higher,and the further development of DDR to DDR5 technology,with the further increase of memory chip speed and capacity,and the total power and the physical volume of memory decline.Clock frequency and information transmission rate are constantly increased,resulting in improved system stability and some information integrity problems such as highspeed information crosstalk and ringing.Therefore,in order to ensure the stability of high-speed signal testing,meet the functional and performance parameters of system testing,and ensure the repeatability and reliability of testing control equipment,higher and higher requirements are being placed on the testing system platform.The signal integrity of the testing platform is also a major concern and an important issue to consider.Due to the low efficiency and poor reusability of traditional testing methods,they cannot meet the testing requirements of highspeed signal chips.The design and implementation of a test platform for high-performance memory interface chips has become a key step in many electronic design verification.In this article,a test platform for DDR5 memory interface chips based on FPGA is designed and implemented.The test platform design of DDR5 memory interface chip based on FPGA mainly includes three aspects: graphical interface design,hardware platform design and device test board design.Hardware module design for testing platform mainly includes three modules: FPGA,Power,Clock module.The software module is designed from three aspects,including graphical user interface design,underlying interface driver programming,and instrument automation control program design.The FPGA simulated CPU and DRAM were used for data docking of memory modules,and the signal integrity of memory interface chip was verified independently of the system.This article provides a comprehensive logical analysis and design for all of its components.The design of FPGA module to provide high-frequency clock signal for memory interface chip using Xilinx FPGA chip.Through multi-port calibration,the edge of different ports of FPGA is aligned to send out high frequency clock for initial training of memory interface chip.A clock chip with the highest level of integration and high jitter performance is used to achieve system clock synchronization design,so as to provide the high frequency and low jitter clock required for the normal operation of DDR5 memory interface chips.In addition,the layout of the test board of the platform is designed from the analysis of transmission line signal transmission,impedance matching,link path,etc.,to prevent the signal integrity problems caused by high-speed signal transmission.Python is used to develop the underlying driver interface program for automatic control of the test instrument programming,and the automated test of DDR5 memory interface chip can be completed more effectively and at high speed by combining code coverage and function coverage.Finally,the platform designed in this article is used to test the DDR5 memory interface chip and complete various performance indicators to meet the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council(DDR JEDEC)standard,to verify the feasibility of the test platform.Through the design and implementation of this project,the FPGA-based automated test platform system is flexible,convenient and fast,so as to ensure the stability of various functions of DDR5 memory interface chips,complete the consistency and reliability verification of the integrity of high-speed signal transmission signals,and improve the efficiency,completeness and reusability of chip testing.
