Research On The Application Of High Pick-and-roll In The 32nd Olympic Men's Basketball Final Fou

Pick-and-roll with simple and practical,in Europe and the United States strong team offensive tactics used more frequently.By looking for the advantages and disadvantages of the high block and roll tactics used by the traditional strong teams of men’s basketball in the game,this paper summarizes the rules and focuses of the use of high block and roll tactics by the strong teams in the world.By using the method of literature,video analysis and mathematical statistics,this study takes the men’s basketball Final Four of the 32nd Olympic Games as the research object,focusing on the analysis of the high block and roll position formation,the number and area of use,the high block and roll method,the defensive block and roll coordination.The application of blocking method and defensive pick-and-roll are combined with on-the-spot game,high block offensive method and offensive effect as well as the behavior of players without the ball,and the following conclusions are drawn:1.The high pick and roll has been used more and more frequently in the World Series,and has become the most relied on offensive means for France and Slovenia in the 32nd Olympic Games.In the men’s basketball Final Four,the high pick and roll strategy occurred in the middle and high areas of the most concentrated,the left and right side of the high area of the top four teams are different.There are six main types of high block and drop formations in the Final Four:the spread,the wing,the corner clearing wing,the bullhorn,the double trailer screen,and the Spanish.2.The Final Four teams mainly use conventional blocks and adopt different blocking methods according to different defensive strategies.The United States uses the catch block for early defense,France uses the high double block to keep space flowing down the lane,Australia uses the double block to create breakaway opportunities for the ball carrier,and Slovenia uses the fake block for delay defense.At the same time,the top Four teams make the most use of shifting and crowding in defensive pick-and-roll coordination.Blue defense is a modern basketball strategy aimed at side pick-and-roll offense,and the Top Four teams use all defensive side pick-and-roll.The Australian defensive pick-and-roll uses delay all over the court.3.In order to improve the quality of screen and the efficiency of high position pick-and-roll coordination,the following practical experiences are summarized in the application of blocking methods and defensive pick-and-roll coordination game:(1)Second block vs.squeeze,bypass(2)different side block vs.blue(3)Shift to create mismatched attack opportunities,mismatched big play small,mismatched small play large and roll call tactics(4)fake block vs.delay in advance,shift(5)catch and pass block vs.help in advance.4.High pick and roll offense of the Final Four teams the ball player’s individual attack,followed by screen passing and weak side of the non-screen outside.In the ball player attack,the top four teams have strengthened the ball player long-distance three-point shot times,in line with the development trend of modern basketball.The screen man attack is dominated by the following layup,and the weak side of the non-screen perimeter is dominated by the perimeter open three-pointer.In the men’s basketball Final Four of this Olympic Games,the players’ behaviors are mainly in three ways:relative static,no-ball screen and no-ball movement.Giving cover to the screener is a unique preference of the French and Slovenian teams for players off the ball.5.Through the analysis of the offensive effect of high block and roll tactics,it is found that the top four teams have the following characteristics.The American team turns the complex into simple high block and roll.The French team high pick-and-roll execution is strong,their inside height advantage is significant,determined to use the inside line down the attack,around the inside line.The Australian team is flexible in the high block,using screens,cuts and help to enrich the offensive options in the block and roll.Slovenia team to the highest degree of reliance on the pick and roll,is the main means of the team’s position offensive scoring.
