In recent years,the communications industry is always changing.In 2009 carrier recombination,3/4G licenses have been issued,the general direction has been presented clearly for Traffic management,full service competition has been built.Recently broadband service has developed rapidly,and various of internet applications has been focused.Some high-bandwidth demands applications such as video conferencing,high-definition television,and large network games have popularized to most families.Access bandwidth demand of users is increasing.Backbone and metropolitan network is fully satisfied the bandwidth requirements of users,but access network which is not enough bandwidth has become a major bottleneck for user feeling.In the construction of OAN,PON technology has become one of the most important technical means for its high-bandwidth,long-distance access,and flexible service access advantages.OLT device which is one part of PON network provides an interface is between the access network and MAN by optical fiber;and then passive ODN is responsible for signal transmission between the different units;finally,ONU device provides the client interface that make sure the user connects to MAN network.EPON and GPON are the most important two technologies for the PON network.In this paper,in terms of the working principle,network protocols,frame structure and some key technologies of the two technologies are analyzed in detail.According to the main application mode of FTTX(FTTH(fiber to the home),FTTO(fiber to the office),FTTB(fiber to the building),etc.),this paper describes the different scenarios of the access network,explains the PON network planning.ODN networking is an important part of the PON network planning,this paper analyzes two ODN network structure:the star topology,tree topology.General network topology is in a tree-based network.star topology is used for large users network and network which has special requirements.In this paper,explains four kinds of the ODN protection,and briefly describes the protection of various paragraphs and construction cost.Based on the actual situation of Yangling Unicom access network construction,this paper explains the Yangling Unicom FTTX network construction network planning in detail.This paper presents the OLT local network topology,calculates ODN network optical performance by using the worst value method.
