Traditional beamforming algorithm based on DOA(Direction of Arrival)estimation often requires a number of matrix operations and spectral peak search,which is difficult to be realized.This paper proposes a simple adaptive beamforming algorithm based on DOA estimation and implements the algorithm with FPGA.The main contents are as follows:1.Introduces the basic principles of Capon and MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification)beamforming algorithm,simulates and compares the performance of the two algorithms.2.For the uniform linear antenna array,we propose an adaptive beamforming algorithm based on DOA estimation.Simulation results demonstrate the good performance of the new algorithm compared with the traditional beamforming algorithm.Additionally,owing to the simple realization without matrix inversion and matrix decomposition,the proposed algorithm deserves less complexity than Capon and MUSIC beamforming algorithms.3 Implements the proposed algorithm with FPGA,and presents the simulation results of FPGA design.
