Construction Of Medical Staff ’s Media Image In China Youth Daily During The COVID-19 Epidemic

How to present the image of medical staff in news reports affects people’s impression of medical staff to a considerable extent.During the COVID-19 period,medical staff,as the first-line anti epidemic workers,attracted much attention,and the media reported more on them.As the main force to report the epidemic situation and guide public opinion,the mainstream media has irreplaceable credibility and influence.Therefore,it is of certain significance to study the image of the mainstream media on the medical staff during the COVID-19.Starting from the content analysis method,this paper combines the presentation of the media image of medical staff by China Youth Daily during the COVID-19 period with the news communication theory,and obtains the following laws: when China Youth Daily presented the medical staff during the COVID-19 epidemic period,the main frame used most is the character frame,followed by the event frame;The topic of the report mainly focuses on the anti epidemic work of medical staff,followed by the report of typical figures;The tendency of reporting is mainly positive,without negative reports;Communication is the most widely used genre.Correspondingly,in terms of length,the number of novella reports is the largest;From the perspective of reporting objects,collective image accounts for a little more than personal image.The media image of medical staff presented is mainly reflected in the group image of young people accounting for the majority,with a similar proportion of men and women,from all over the country,including many well-known medical experts.These medical staff love patients,adhere to their ideals,work hard professionally,go retrograde,have the spirit of sacrifice,and occasionally show their personal feelings,feel great pressure,and are loved by the general public.The study found that there are some problems in the presentation of the image of medical staff in China Youth Daily: the image of medical staff is raised,the advantages of in-depth reporting of traditional media are not brought into full play,the degree of information reprocessing is insufficient,and the new reporting form is not perfect.In order to deal with the above problems,China Youth Daily should pay more attention to in-depth reporting in image presentation,give full play to the advantages of traditional paper media in in-depth reporting,reprocess information,reasonably use AR technology to meet the relevant requirements of paper media for information integration and content extension,use AR technology to obtain deeper content,timely obtain the relevant information of news reports,and make multimedia supplements to text and pictures.In the innovation of reporting methods,we should pay more attention to the content rather than the form,adhere to the positive report of seeking truth from facts,praise the selfless and fearless image of medical staff positively,refuse to be too high,and establish the image of medical staff in line with the needs of the times.
