The Study Of Jin Dynasty Epitaph Vocabulary From The Perspective Of Dictionary Compilation

Dictionary editing is an important part of the editing and publishing business.The compilation of an excellent dictionary can record the development of language from the micro level and it can inherit human civilization from the macro level.However,it is difficult for any dictionary to be perfect.Even an excellent dictionary like the Hanyu Da Cidian has many flaws due to the insufficient use of corpus in the compilation process.The epitaph documents are used as unearthed materials and have important linguistic and philological values.In recent years,the use of epitaph literature to revise the dictionary has made a series of fruitful results,but the academic circles have not fully utilized the Jin Dynasty epitaphs.This paper uses the epitaph of the Jin Dynasty as the corpus,combined with the related theoretical knowledge of lexicography and lexicology,and adopts the method of combining epitaph literature and handed down literature,diachronic research and synchronic research,and combining induction and deduction to analyze the various elements of the dictionary and the editing.The specific steps and frequently-occurring problems are studied systematically,mainly taking the Hanyu Da Cidian as an example to analyze its editing requirements and characteristics.Using the vocabulary from the epitaph of the Jin Dynasty to supplement and correct the omissions in the Hanyu Da Cidian and give specific suggestions for revision.The article is mainly divided into six parts.The first part is introduction.Explain the basis of the topic,introduce the general situation of the Hanyu Da Cidian and the epitaph,combine the current research status of the Hanyu Da Cidian,the epitaph vocabulary and the epitaph of the Jin Dynasty in the academic circle,and point out the theoretical value and practical value of using the epitaph vocabulary of the Jin Dynasty to supplement the Hanyu Da Cidian,and explain the research methods and innovations.The second part is the study of the Hanyu Da Cidian and the vocabulary of the epitaph of the Jin Dynasty.Introduce the definition of dictionary terms,combine with the principles of dictionary collection,discuss the object of dictionary collection and the specific arrangement of terms.Analyze one by one the causes of the missing,incorrectly established entries,improper handling of related entries,and using the epitaphs of the Jin Dynasty to give specific revision opinions on the problems existing in the Hanyu Da Cidian.The third part is about the epitaph vocabulary of the Jin Dynasty and the meaning of the Hanyu Da Cidian.Introduce the definition of the meaning items in the dictionary,discuss the generalization,separation and ordering of the meaning items.Using the epitaph vocabulary of the Jin Dynasty as the corpus,it is investigated whether the existing interpretations of the meaning items in the Hanyu Da Cidian can meet the context of the words used in the epitaph documents,and the meaning items that appear in the epitaph documents but are missing in the Hanyu Da Cidian are supplemented.The fourth part is about the epitaph vocabulary of the Jin Dynasty and the interpretation of the Hanyu Da Cidian.Introduce the definition of paraphrase,discuss the requirements of paraphrase and the method of dictionary paraphrase.Analyze common problems in dictionary definitions.Investigate the meaning of specific words in the epitaphs of the Jin Dynasty,and correct the improper interpretations given in the Dictionary.The fifth part is about the vocabulary of the epitaphs of the Jin Dynasty and the exemplified problems in the Hanyu Da Cidian.Introduce the development and definition of dictionary examples,discuss the role and requirements of dictionary examples,and use examples of words in the epitaphs of the Jin Dynasty.From the perspectives of supplementing examples,advancing the time of examples,and adding intermediate links,the Hanyu Da Cidian is present in terms of examples.Give suggestions for amendments to specific issues.The sixth part is summary.Summarize the content,value and deficiencies of the article research,in order to help future scholars’ research.
