| As a marginalized group,the image of middle-aged women in small cities has been relatively invisible.Under the barrier of traditional media resources,it is difficult for them to overcome the gap between resources and power and realize self-growth and female liberation.Now,with the gradual maturity of digital media platform technology,its characteri stics of openness,low threshold and decentralization open the channel of information resource flow and build a platform to change management composition,which makes it possible for some resources and power to flow to the audience of middle-aged women in small cities.They can also use such resources and power to improve themselves,control themselves and develop themselves,so as to construct the subject.From the perspective of digital media empowerment,this paper combines relevant empowerment theories,feminist theories and subjectivity theories,and uses content analysis and in-depth interviews as the main research methods to conduct empowerment research on the information,relationship and actions of middle-aged women in small cities on Tik Tok platform,And discussed the subjectivity construction of this group through this digital media empowerment.The research finds that at the information level,middle-aged women in small cities realize self-empowerment with the help of TIK TOK and have the critical reflective ability than before.In terms of relationship,the social resources of this group have been expanded,and the intimate relationship has been strengthened,the support of "sisterhood" and the anti-gaze power has been obtained.At the level of action,this group has the visibility and discourse power,and the self-expression practice and space practice increase,and the expression and action from private domain to public domain can be completed.Subjectivity is constructed in the process of empowerment.However,the research also found that the low comprehensive ability and internalized traditional gender thinking of middle-aged women in small cities in the early stage also hindered the construction of subjectivity in the process of empowerment.This is mainly manifested by excessive media use,the absorption of content controlled by personalized recommendation,internal resistance from "female aversion",and the loss of voice and practice of public issues and so on.These also mean that the group has not fully obtained resources and power,and the depth of subjectivity consciousness has not been reached.They only realize the lower level of subject construction. |
