| As the highest end of national education, graduate education has become a new engine for promoting scientific development, and universities that carry out postgraduate education are also regarded as the "cradle" of high-level talents. The development of the country is inseparable from a strong talent reserve team,so for colleges and universities, discovering the law of talent growth and encouraging talent innovation is an eternal concern.Scholars’ academic career can be depicted in the academic genealogy to a certain degree, thus providing a source of insight into talent acquisition. In the existing research on genealogy, scholars mostly build academic genealogy through the teacher-inheritance relationship of scholars from the perspective of cultivating doctoral supervisors in universities with a large number of offspring and intergenerational numbers,so as to intuitively view the academic relationship network of scholars. In this paper, the academic level of scholars and the cultivation of offspring are comprehensively considered to characterize the scholars’ literature influence and academic genealogy reproduction ability,so as to construct a two-dimensional system for scholars’ influence evaluation. Therefore, this paper starts with dual-core journals in the field of graphic science, queries the information of scholars who serve as editorial board members in multiple journals, and then constructs academic genealogy, analyzes the cultivation of students’ offspring at different ages and the output of papers, and provides suggestions for doctoral students to choose supervisors.Since the editorial board members of the journal hold the "great power" of whether to accept papers or not, their own academic level is undoubtedly widely recognized in this field, thus increasing the persuasiveness of the selection of scholars. In addition, the research on academic impact evaluation mostly starts from the perspective of paper output and collaboration, and pays less attention to the academic genealogy of scholars. This paper argues that the evaluation of scholars should not only focus on their own scientific research output, but also the potential contributions made by their cultivation of future generations should also be included in the evaluation system,so this paper selects a variety of indicators from the two-dimensional perspectives of academic genealogy reproduction ability and academic literature influence to comprehensively evaluate scholars’ academic influence. After determining the research object, the descendants of the students cultivated by them are collected information, including the graduation time, major, and subsequent employment, and then complete the construction of the academic genealogy chart. Then, based on the different age groups of scholars, the number of offspring cultivated by supervisors and the output of papers were analyzed, and the academic reproduction and academic output prosperity period of scholars were judged.According to the selected indicators: first generation of cultivated students, total number of cultivated students, number of intergenerational students, number of cultivated students of the largest generation and number of successors of cultivated students,a weighted summation is used to estimate the reproductive capacity of scientists and the number of successors of students is used as the value of academic reproductive capacity, and the weight value of each indicator is determined by factor analysis on the total number of published works of scientists to obtain the value of literature impact. Finally, the relationship between the two dimensions is explored, and the organic combination of the two can be used to evaluate scholars more objectively, and the comprehensive evaluation of scholars through these two indicators can enrich the existing evaluation of scholars’ influence. It is found that the peak of scholars’ cultivation of offspring and thesis output mostly occurs in middle age,so doctoral students can give priority to middle-aged supervisors when choosing supervisors, and the two-dimensional evaluation system constructed by combining academic genealogical reproduction ability value and literature influence can provide a new perspective for more objective evaluation of scholars. |
