In the era of knowledge economy and network economy, knowledge is the core element for enterprises to implement technological innovation, and knowledge innovation has become an important source for modern enterprises to gain competitive advantage. With the rapid development of information technology industry and the increasing complexity of innovation, enterprises must carry out continuous knowledge innovation if they want to gain lasting competitiveness. To realize knowledge innovation, the existing knowledge elements need to be reorganized and integrated first. The knowledge base of enterprises is the result of past knowledge investment and experience accumulation, which will have an impact on the ability of enterprises to combine knowledge to carry out knowledge innovation. At the same time, due to the increasingly blurred boundaries of enterprises, the use of external cooperation networks has become the core path for enterprises to improve innovation efficiency. How to reasonably construct the internal knowledge infrastructure of enterprises and optimize the external cooperation network in order to promote the development of knowledge innovation is an important issue of current academic and business circles.Based on the rational allocation of internal and external innovation resources in the process of knowledge innovation in the new generation of information technology industry enterprises, this study systematically explores the influence of external cooperation network location and internal knowledge distance on knowledge innovation by using theoretical reasoning and empirical analysis, and makes an empirical analysis by using patent data through hierarchical linear regression model. It is found that the centrality of the enterprise’s position in the external cooperative network can significantly and positively affect its dual knowledge innovation; The location characteristics of structural holes have a positive impact on exploitative knowledge innovation, but have a negative impact on exploratory knowledge innovation; The characteristics of knowledge distance within enterprises, that is,knowledge width and knowledge depth, have a positive impact on dual knowledge innovation of enterprises. This study deepens the research on knowledge innovation, social network and knowledge-based theories, which can provide theoretical reference for the new generation of information technology industry enterprises to allocate knowledge-based resources in time, make rational use of external network resources and continuously improve the performance of knowledge innovation.
