| At present,flat-panel displays continue to develop rapidly in the direction of wide color gamut,high pixel density,thinness,fast response speed,low power consumption,and high brightness.LCD with LED backlight has become the dominant in the market for its green,long life,high color rendering,thin and other advantages.However,it still faces challenges from new display technologies such as Organic Light-emitting diodes,Laser Display,Mini-LED and Micro-LED.In order to cope with the above challenges,traditional liquid crystal displays urgently need to improve the low contrast ratio of the screen to occupy a favorable position in the competition of flat panel displays in the future.The liquid crystal display of image information needs backlight lighting,when the screen display content changes,the backlight has been in a constant bright state and the energy consumption is high.When the brightness of the display part is low,this part of the liquid crystal will produce light leakage,which in turn causes the liquid crystal display to fail to accurately display the proper gray scale of the picture.Thanks to the shrinking size of the current LED,Mini-LED is widely used in the field of backlight research.Mini-LED are smaller,less costly,and more energy efficient than regular LED.Displays equipped with Mini-LED backlight are thinner and thinner,and the level of local dimming is more refined.Therefore,the Mini-LED high-zone local dimming technology adopted in this paper can adjust the brightness of the backlight adaptively according to the display content,then improve the ability of light control,reduce the brightness of dark areas and enhance the contrast of the display,so as to save energy and increase the quality of display picture.Firstly,this paper describes the research background and purpose of local dimming Mini-LED LCD,summarizes the current development situation and research results of Mini-LED backlight display at home and abroad as well as the future development trend.Based on the basic characteristics of Mini-LED,this paper introduces its temperature characteristics,color coordinate distribution characteristics,photoelectric transmission characteristics and the current application and development trend of MiniLED.Secondly,the structure and principles of the LCD display are introduced,and the mathematical model of the simulation LCD display is established.The display effect simulation experiment of local dimming algorithm is carried out based on the mathematical model,and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the current algorithm according to the display effect.A local dimming algorithm based on the maximum extraction method and evaluate the display effect of the algorithm.Through the optimization of the algorithm,under the condition of ensuring that the screen has no obvious distortion and improves the contrast,it increases the brightness of the display screen appropriately and greatly saves energy consumption.Develop high-zone Mini-LED backlight drive control system,and the high-zone Mini-LED local dimming algorithm is implemented based on FPGA hardware.The backlight source can correctly display dynamic backlight information through experiments.Designed and developed a liquid crystal display machine equipped with a high-zone Mini-LED backlight,and carried out experimental measurements on the parameters of the experimental prototype.After dimming,the display contrast ratio of the machine can be increased to 1,000,000:1,save about 19.86% of energy consumption. |
