With the concept of digital economy,digital transformation has gradually become a hot topic.According to the White Paper on the Development of China’s Digital Economy(2022),the scale of China’s digital economy in 2021 will reach more than 4.5trillion yuan,accounting for 39.8% of GDP,an increase of 3.1% compared with 38.6%in 2020,with an average annual growth rate of 15.9%,significantly higher than the average growth rate of GDP in the same period.Digital economy has become the dominant force in the rapid and stable development of Chinese economy,which supports the fast and stable development of Chinese economy.With the advent of the Internet era,more and more enterprises enter the e-commerce industry,and the retail ecommerce industry has become the core of promoting China’s economic development.At the same time,the wide application of advanced digital technologies such as big data,cloud computing and AI has greatly improved the operation efficiency of each link of enterprises,achieved cost reduction and efficiency increase,and promoted the sustainable development of enterprises.In this context,Digital transformation of retail e-commerce enterprises is an inevitable choice to conform to the needs of The Times and market environment,and is also an important measure to promote China to become a digital power.However,according to the Research Report on Digital Transformation of Chinese Enterprises(2021),by the end of 2021,almost all Chinese enterprises,regardless of industry type and size,have carried out digital transformation.However,according to the Digital Transformation Index of Chinese Enterprises in 2021,by the end of 2021,Only 16% of Chinese enterprises have basically achieved the transformation goals and achieved significant transformation effects.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the key factors affecting the success of digital transformation.In this paper,Jingdong and Suning are selected as the research objects,and the balanced scorecard theory,process reengineering theory and sustainable development theory are taken as the theoretical basis.Firstly,the future development trend of the retail e-commerce industry is predicted according to the development status of the retail e-commerce industry,and then the similarities and differences in the digital transformation process of Jingdong and Suning and the different transformation results are compared and analyzed.Finally,the key factors affecting its digital transformation performance are obtained,and the conclusion and enlightenment are formed.By studying Jingdong and Suning’s digital transformation process and effect,this paper hopes to provide reference for the digital transformation of Chinese retail e-commerce enterprises,draw lessons from their own actual situation,and promote their own successful transformation.The research conclusion of this paper shows that the most important thing for digital transformation is to update managers’ cognition and keep pace with The Times,followed by the transformation of talents and technology,adequate compound talent reserve and the construction of supporting technical facilities are the key to the success of digital transformation,and finally,advanced adaptive organizational culture and service quality are the basis for promoting the successful transformation of retail ecommerce enterprises.At the same time,enterprise managers can timely insight into the development trend of the industry and seize the opportunity of transformation,which is also a key factor to promote the success of digital transformation.
