With the rapid advancement of wireless communication and multimedia technologies, video applications have become an integral part of people’s daily lives. While 5G networks offer significant advantages in delivering high-bandwidth wireless data services, the increasing popularity of video applications and the rising demand for high-definition video content have placed a strain on the limited bandwidth resources of wireless networks. Therefore,to enhance the efficiency of wireless network utilization and improve the quality of user experience(QoE),it is essential to flexibly determine the video bitrate and dynamically adjust the available wireless network resources, ensuring that video users can enjoy a seamless viewing experience. This paper aims to enhance the user experience and smoothness of wireless video playback for mobile users by studying evaluation methods for user experience quality, resource allocation methods for wireless bandwidth, and selection methods for adaptive bitrate in wireless video transmission. The main focus of this paper includes:1)The QoE model is a crucial indicator for evaluating user satisfaction with video services. This paper proposes a QoE model that incorporates user priority, taking into account factors such as user priority, buffering time, video quality, and bitrate switching.User priority enables the timely identification of users with poor viewing experiences(such as those with poor network quality or an urgent need for wireless network resources)and improves their QoE.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed QoE model effectively enhances the user experience quality based on user priority.2)To address the issue of user buffering caused by insufficient and untimely wireless resource allocation,a wireless resource allocation method based on user priority is proposed. This method allocates wireless resources promptly by considering the urgency of each user’s demand for wireless resources based on their priority level.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed wireless resource allocation algorithm effectively reduces user buffering time and improves user experience quality.3)To address the frequent bitrate switching issue during video playback,a bitrate selection method based on time weighting is proposed. This method determines the bitrate level of the next video segment by considering the time-weighted values of historical bitrates, aiming to reduce the frequency of bitrate switches.Experimental results demonstrate that by incorporating time weighting into bitrate selection, the optimal video bitrate can be determined, leading to improved video quality and smoother playback.
