In the era of 5G,VLOG has emerged as a novel form of visual communication,dominated by short videos.It serves as a unique amalgamation of mass communication,interpersonal communication,and self-communication.The development of VLOG has been furthered by the advancements in 5G technology.Based on mimesis theory,this paper defines VLOG as a new form of communication in which the real and the "performative",public and private spheres converge,As a "communication ritual," VLOG offers a unique platform for exploring the construction of self-identity and its link to communication.It also investigates the presentation and internal factors of VLOG as a medium for self-reconstruction.In doing so,this research sheds light on how VLOG can shape and be shaped by the self.This study uses interviews,questionnaires,documentary analysis and case studies to select representative video bloggers(VLOGs)from Weibo,ShakeYin and B-site in descending order of activity in video social media,and uses a "snowball" approach to select young people aged between 18 and 30.Using the "snowballing" method,young people aged between 18 and 30 were selected and interviewed online and offline.In the creation and dissemination of VLOGs,exploring the path of self-construction and value presentation is essential.This paper finds that the medium of VLOG Individuals rely on building a"situation" to create a "performance stage" in which they can express themselves.Through the "body" dimension,they are influenced by both power and non-power factors.individuals construct themselves and present their values in the virtual space.Through the "body" dimension,the individual "plays" the role defined by the self or others in the virtual space,where the transformation of self-construction comes from the"self" itself and is influenced by others and the social environment.It is commonly built upon collective rituals that are transmitted,while in VLOG,building one’s self is a joint effort between the individual and the performance space.During this exchange,the role of power is no longer to erase the individual but rather to shape and form it,making VLOG a virtual social sanctuary for individuals to not only focus on but also discover themselves.Consequently,investigating the mechanisms and progression of self-formation in VLOG is tantamount to delving into the implications and importance of the human identity in the vicinity of communication.Visual representation is believed to be the most influential method and medium of spreading information for individuals in the era of mass empowerment,according to this paper’s assertion.And that video blogs(VLOGs),as a new medium of visual autobiography.Assisting virtual communication and interaction among audiences is simplified with ease.With the emergence of advanced technology and new forms of communication,people have overcome their resistance and find ways to fuse human and machine for self-construction.In VLOG’s production and circulation,an individual’s construct undergoes a transformation within a specific paradigm,and self-reflection shapes the emotional flow of communication.VLOGs serve as a guide to help people utilize "rituals" that serve the society,audience and self while discovering and regulating the ever-changing "self" in the process.At the levels of self,media and social communication,VLOG,as a means of conveying information,performs the important task of disseminating the right values and promoting positive and healthy cultural development.
