| The development of mobile communication has changed our way of life, and wireless network coverage has been achieved in most of the urban and rural areas, however,in the Gaoligong Mountain, there is almost no network coverage because of the difficulty of network construction and economic benefits, but the network deployment is important due to the needs of ecological protection, scientific research, and emergency communication. In this paper,we analyze the commonly used wireless propagation models, key technologies of 5G networks and Atoll simulation tools, select and calibrate the SPM model and Longley-Rice model suitable for Gaoligong Mountain with the measured data, and use the calibrated propagation model to plan the wireless network coverage in Gaoligong Mountain region and analyze and optimize the existing network, which achieves better practical results and has important practical significance. The main contents of this paper are:(1)The network demand of Gaoligong Mountain is analyzed from three perspectives of biodiversity conservation, scientific research and emergency communication, and the current situation of 4G and 5G networks in Gaoligong Mountain is analyzed according to mobile network deployment and field tests are conducted. After analyzing and processing the test data, the SPM model and LongleyRice model, which are more suitable for Gaoligong Mountain area, are compared and selected, and the two propagation models were calibrated;(2)The corrected SPM model was used to plan the wireless network coverage of the hiking route of Nanzhai Gongfang using Atoll tool, and after comparing and verifying the existing network coverage in the area, one base station was established on the north side of Nanzhai Gongfang, the northeast slope of Huangzhugu River Post and the northeast slope of Linjiapuzi for coverage, and finally about 35.4 % of the area could reach SS-RSRP ≥-95 d Bm.Using the Longley-Rice model in Matlab for coverage planning, the coverage rate of SS-RSRP≥-95 d Bm obtained in Matlab is25.1 %,which is slightly smaller than that obtained in Atoll with the same transmit power and antenna height settings, indicating that the Longley-Rice model takes into account more terrain.Rice model takes into account the influence of more topographic factors;(3)Finally,through the work-reference optimization of existing and new base stations,it is found that increasing the antenna hanging height has little effect on the improvement of SS-RSRP,while the increase of base station transmitting power can significantly improve SS-RSRP,but the increase of power will be accompanied by the increase of power consumption and cost, and all factors should be considered in the actual network construction. |
