| Film and television works can convey cultural connotations and provide spiritual values through images, which are either realistic portrayals of the current social situation, metaphorical expressions of the current social situation,or beautiful aspirations under the oppression of social conflicts. In recent years, with the continuous development of the film and television industry, the pursuit of creating content that is highly compatible with the lives of the audience has become one of the main goals of the creators, and police documentary programs are developing like wildfire in such a context. The three seasons of the program have exceeded 640 million plays and over 5 million pop-ups.Obviously,such a huge attention shows that the reality of the police documentary program "Guarding Jie Fang West" has become a social and cultural phenomenon reflecting the hot spots of people’s livelihoods, rather than the work itself.Based on this, this paper will select the three seasons of Guarding Liberation West as the main research object, and use the relevant theories of communication, sociology and political economy of communication to analyze the text and audience of Guarding Liberation West, and conduct an in-depth investigation into the content and expression of the social grassroots conflict presented by it.In the textual analysis, this paper will focus on the strong social ideological issues reflected in the selected topics of "Guarding Jie Fang West",such as gender relations, juvenile delinquency, economy and employment, etc.,and explore the reflection of the painful social issues that people are concerned about in the program.Secondly,I will focus on the originality of the narrative strategy of "Guarding Jie Fang West",which leads the audience to enjoy the panoramic picture of the gray zone through the realistic presentation of the earthly crisis by the non-linear time sequence and the non-normal time speed of the stitching of images. Finally, the author will explore the "life stream" conflict in the film, focusing on three dimensions of the confrontation: the conflict within the individual, the conflict between the individual and others, and the background elements in the conflict, and through the grasp of the conflict, the program’s communication intention and value choice. In terms of audience analysis, this paper uses the in-depth interview method to examine the impact of the social grassroots conflict content of Guardian Liberation West on the audience.Using Stuart Hall’s decoding theory and the basic characteristics of postmodern society,we will explore the decoding behaviors of audiences who are "based on different cultural frameworks" when they are confronted with the conflict content delivered by the program, which are mainly divided into four types of decoding: "dominant" decoding,"poaching" decoding and "confrontational" decoding.Of course,in the face of such strong audience feedback,no matter how the audience decodes,it is necessary to pay attention to the "satisfaction" obtained by the audience in the process of watching the program, therefore, based on Katz’s "Use and Satisfaction" theory, the audience’s satisfaction in the three dimensions of value identification, psychological compensation, and entertainment consumption will be evaluated. Therefore, based on Katz’s "use and satisfaction" theory,we will analyze the audience’s satisfaction in three dimensions: value recognition, psychological compensation, and entertainment consumption. In the end, both the text and the audience are controlled by the context, and the presentation of the social grassroots conflict in "Guarding Jie Fang West" still contains economic context, political context, and the inescapable reality context. It is important to note that "Guarding Jie Fang West" presents the grassroots conflict in a witty and "spectacle" form, which in a way turns the plight of the filmed people into a talking point in the online world, and the deeper meaning behind the serious events concerned is to a certain extent dissolved. |
