| At the end of 2019,the surging novel coronavirus(Covid-19)swept the world,and the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government took great attention and acted quickly,which was a major test of the public health system and a test of the ability of mainstream media to communicate."This is not only the story of the Chinese people,but also the story of the advantages of the Chinese system.In the mainstream media’s specific coverage of the epidemic,represented by the People’s Daily microblog,a large number of visually unique,heartfelt and widely disseminated close-up masterpieces of people emerged.It has been proved that close-up photo narratives have the highlights and advantages to stand out in the competition of discourse and can be a powerful tool for "telling a good Chinese story".Therefore,this study takes the 2019-2022 People’s Daily Weibo antiepidemic close-up photos as the research object,and uses Jean-Luc Nancy’s theory of gaze and common body as the theoretical basis to analyze the categories and characteristics of its close-up photo narratives and their mechanisms in the viewers’ gaze by using case study method and text analysis.This study finds that,in this context of national resistance,the gaze,as a kind of dialogue and action,outreach and return,acts on viewers’ cognition,action,emotion and interpretation of meaning through close-up narratives,completing self-construction-community construction-Chinese national community construction,which in turn brings a sense of security to viewers,reflecting our The value of the characteristic system and the idea of Chinese national community,i.e.,the value of the new gaze.Finally,this study summarizes the aesthetic revelation,practical analysis,and narrative strategies of community ideology and institutional advantages of close-up narratives. |
