| With the rise of Internet technology-driven cross-border e-commerce,and especially with the implementation of the"Belt and Road" initiative,China’s foreign trade has ushered in new trade growth points and large space to develop. However, there comes the widespread belief in the academics that the overall low level of trade facilitation and unevenness of countries along the "Belt and Road" have turned out to be negative trade efficiency issues.Different from traditional trade,cross-border e-commerce,a novelty, has received recent attention from academics. Then,an inquiry of the impact of trade facilitation on cross-border e-commerce is of practical significance and practical value. To answer such a research question, this thesis takes the countries along the "Belt and Road" as its research material,to explore the key influencing factors of China’s cross-border e-commerce export trade from a perspective of the trade facilitation with a view to provide suggestions on how to uplift China’s cross-border electronic business with its trading partners along the "Belt and Road",thereby bringing these two trade growth points into better play. This paper first sorts out the research status in related fields, summarizes the existing literature on trade facilitation,cross-border e-commerce and their relationship, and then analyzes the mechanism of trade facilitation on cross-border e-commerce export trade and the spatial spillover mechanism of trade facilitation on cross-border e-commerce export.Secondly,44 countries along the "Belt and Road" are selected as research objects to build an evaluation system that can better measure the level of cross-border e-commerce trade facilitation, and use the global principal component analysis method to estimate and analyze the level of trade facilitation in 44 countries from 2009 to 2016.Finally,the spatial spillover effect of trade facilitation index and sub-index of countries along the belt and Road on the export trade of Cross-border e-commerce between China and countries along the Belt and Road is studied by using spatial durbin model, and the spatial spillover effect of first-level sub-index of trade facilitation is analyzed. On this basis, the heterogeneity of samples is analyzed according to different regions and different income levels of countries. The results show that:(1)The development level of cross-border e-commerce trade facilitation in countries along the belt and road is uneven, and the overall level of trade facilitation in central and eastern Europe is higher than that in Asia.(2)The trade facilitation level of countries along the Belt and Road,GDP of trading countries and total population of trading countries have a positive effect on the export of China’s cross-border e-commerce,while the distance between China and its trading partners inhibits the export of China’s cross-border e-commerce.(3)To raise the level of trade facilitation along the country will significantly promote the ascension of the cross-border electricity exports in our country, and there is spatial spillover effects, namely our country to any country "neighbourhood" all the way along the route of cross-border electricity export trade by the country and other countries along the dual influence of the level of trade facilitation.Although the level of trade facilitation in their own countries has a deeper impact on China’s export trade with its cross-border e-commerce than the level of trade facilitation in the neighboring countries of any of the countries along the route, the indirect impact of the neighboring countries should not be underestimated as well. Finally, based on the analysis and empirical test results of the trade facilitation level between China and countries along the belt and Road and the development characteristics of cross-border e-commerce export trade, this paper puts forward feasible suggestions on developing the trade facilitation level of countries along the Belt and Road and improving the scale of cross-border e-commerce export trade between China and countries along the Belt and Road. |
