Ethnics And Philanthropy

With the continuous advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative,the number and scale of Chinese firms developing their business overseas are on the rise.With its unique geographical advantages,Thailand has attracted a large number of China’s firms to invest and operate in Thailand.The development of Chinese firms in Thailand has ushered in a peak,and the social responsibility of Chinese firms in Thailand has also received extensive attention.Therefore,this paper sorts out the business environment of Chinese firms in Thailand,the significance of fulfilling social responsibility,and the path of fulfilling social responsibility through literature as the data basis to analyze the performance of the ethical and philanthropic responsibilities of Chinese firms in Thailand.Then,the ethical responsibilities of Chinese firms in Thailand are divided into three categories: employee training,working hours and wages,and social security.Philanthropic responsibilities are divided into infrastructure-based community assistance,cultural and educational facilities community assistance,and social service-based community assistance.It is assumed that these three aspects of philanthropic responsibility and ethical responsibility are related,so the regression method is used to analyze the impact of Chinese firms’ performance of ethical responsibilities on the performance of philanthropic responsibilities.When it comes to the performance of ethical responsibilities and philanthropic responsibilities of Chinese firms in Thailand,it is found that: Chinese firms have better performance of ethical responsibilities in employee training,working hours,wages,and social security;community assistance in infrastructure,cultural and educational facilities.However,in terms of social service facilities,the participation of China’s firms is not high,and the performance of philanthropic responsibilities is not satisfactory.Moreover,the study on the relationship between the ethical responsibility and philanthropic responsibility of China’s firms in Thailand shows that(1)There is a significant positive correlation between the training and further education in the ethical responsibility of China’s firms in Thailand and the three aspects of corporate philanthropic responsibility,indicating that the better the Chinese firms are in terms of training,the better the philanthropic responsibility will be;(2)In the regression analysis results of the ethical responsibility of China’s firms in Thailand and corporate philanthropic responsibility,it is found that the correlation coefficient of the explanatory variable personal income is all negative,showing a negative correlation,but the correlation coefficient is small and the effect on philanthropic responsibility is not significant;(3)In the research on the relationship between social security and philanthropic responsibility in the ethical responsibilities of China’s firms in Thailand,it is found that social security has a significant role in promoting infrastructure and social service community assistance.That is,the more complete the social security provided by Chinese firms for Thai employees is,the more infrastructure and social service assistance they provide to the community.On the basis of previous analysis,this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for improving the performance of social responsibility of Chinese firms from the perspectives of government and enterprises,and provides reference for promoting the development of Chinese firms in Thailand.
