Prior to 1999,only 35%of companies worldwide participated in corporate social responsibility(CSR)practices, and in 2011,99%of global companies participated. As a result, the emergence of CSR initiatives has brought a significant change in three pillars of sustainability(TPS)after the year 2011.The debate to the complexity of CSR concept allow us to argued the construct variables belong to CSR concept. Therefore, this dissertation mainly highlighted four different sub-studies circled considering CSR practices and its impact in Madagascar from the perspective of TPS.First, this study effort to evaluates the quality of CSR compliance and disclosure information of Chinese companies while considering the impositions of business laws and regulations under different management systems.Second, the study discusses the Madagascar cultural context and the facts on the CSR of Chinese corporate in Madagascar and find the CSR practices effect on TPS,it is also to identify hidden barriers for implementing CSR initiatives in Madagascar.Third, regarding the increasingly of Chinese informal micro-enterprises in Madagascar, our next part evaluates how important is organizational pressure and the performance of informal micro-enterprises in sustainable development(SD)while considering regrouping and formalization strategy. The fourth and final study to determine the solutions of this complexity of CSR environment, management control and Chinese firm performance. This thesis uses empirical research model to analyze the impact of CSR of Chinese corporations in Madagascar from the perspective of TPS such economic growth, environmental preservation and social improvement. Then it combines Turkey-Kramer and quota-sampling model to establish the study on the CSR of Chinese firms in Madagascar from the perspective of TPS.Therefore,we can determine the significant CSR activities of Chinese firms in Madagascar that have been made to advise some recommendations and suggestions on how to support the CSR initiatives of Chinese firms in Madagascar to enhance the sustainability between two countries. The major summaries of this thesis is made as following points:(1)In the assessment of the quality of CSR compliance and disclosure practices of companies while considering the imposition of business laws and regulations under different management systems,we observed that the level of compliance and disclosure of CSR practices by companies is higher in countries that have mandatory CSR policies than in countries where such policies are voluntary.(2)CSR of Chinese companies has a greater practice on social and economic performance of Madagascar, due to its greater results than their competitor does. However,in order to further encourage the quality of CSR compliance and disclosure practices of Chinese firms,it needs to improve the discussion between communities and society in the management of the environmental factor in CSR practices of Chinese firms in Madagascar.(3)Due to the increase of Chinese SMEs in Madagascar, the results show that regrouping informal micro-enterprises in terms of providing education and professional training, access to physical infrastructure and self-help groups of associations are the most effective strategy than formalization strategy in terms of strengthening the links with the formal sector, financing of their activities and tax to the informal micro-enterprises.(4)However,the CSR practices of Chinese firms in Madagascar has greater impact in social and economic factor, there are more hidden barriers which bring more complexities for the implementing CSR practices.According to this, both assumptions of competent staff and real-time information are factors leading to effective CSR practice from the perspective of TPS.No previous study has confirmed this relationship using different variable of CSR for sustainability in between two countries. This study is limited to one country under investigation, therefore further study needs extended to other countries.
