Research On The Mechanism Of Supply Chain Dependence Influencing Technological Diversification

Nowadays,with the increasingly diversified,complicated and dynamic market demand and supply,China’s manufacturing enterprises can no longer succeed with a single core technology,but need to establish a diversified technology system to maintain their own competitive advantage.Under the background of supply chain competition,the establishment of enterprise diversified technology system is closely related to its supply chain partners.However,in practice and academic research,little is known about how supply chain dependence affects the technological diversification of enterprises,which needs to be addressed urgently.This paper uses the supply chain dependency relationship to describe the direction and degree of dependence between an enterprise and its upstream suppliers and downstream customers.This paper takes 1338 A-share listed manufacturing enterprises in China from 2016 to 2020 as the research object.Based on resource dependence theory,technological innovation theory,organizational learning theory,stakeholder theory and transaction cost theory,this paper analyzes the impact of supply chain dependence on enterprise technological diversification,the moderating effect of R&D cooperation and environmental dynamism.The results show that when the supply chain dependence of enterprises is customer-oriented dependence,the technological diversification of enterprises can be significantly improved.This function is realized through two mechanisms:first,the customer-oriented dependence part promotes the technological diversification of enterprises by improving the absorptive capacity of enterprises;Secondly,customer-oriented dependence partly improves the technological diversification of enterprises by reducing their financing constraints.In addition,cooperative R&D and environmental dynamics both positively promote the positive impact of customer-oriented dependence on enterprise technology diversification.Furthermore,the positive effect of customer-oriented dependence on enterprise technology diversification is stronger in technology-intensive,state-owned,mature and high market position enterprises.Based on this research,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions for enterprises to implement supply chain management strategies and technology diversification strategies.
