A Study On The Retire Mode Of The Founders Of Alibaba Group And Its Performance Impact

The founder is the soul of each company,the greater the influence,the stronger probability of the company’s performance decline will be due to the founder’s retire and the lost of dedicated assets.To avoid this situation,it is worthy of a deep-going discussion about the topic related to the founder’s retire mode.This article selects Alibaba Group(abbreviation Alibaba)as a case company.Firstly,through theoretical analysis,it considers two aspects of successor source selection and founder’s retire.Refer to the former research of four kinds of retire mode,based on resource-dependent theory,and from the perspective of specialized assets,this article will analyze what is the influence of the retire mode--"Founder’s progressive depositive and professional manager’s succession",which is selected by Alibaba’s founder,Jack Ma.In addition,in order to understand the impact of this retire mode on performance further,this paper also analyzes the company performance before and after the implementation of the retire mode.The study found:(1)Alibaba Group’s retire mode will help the founders of the company quit smoothly,and the company performance has improved after the completion.It can be seen that the retire mode can effectively avoid the status of the company’s performance decline due to the founder’s left;(2)Based on the progressive depositive mode of Jack Ma,withthree succession mechanisms of "institutional arrangements","process training" and "cultural heritage",it effectively promoted the conversion transfer and succession of founder’s special assets.It avoided the crack of the founder’s dedicated assets.And it allowed the successor create corporate value,promote corporate performance,which is a enhancement of his ability;(3)Company’s steady and continuous development is the meaning of the founder’s retire mode.The retire mode taken by Jack Ma the creation of the system and method are huge wealth to Alibaba.As this mode and system are constantly improving,it is believed that Alibaba will get rid of the problem of leaders’ replacement in continuous development.At last,this article is aimed to provide some reference to the company which is faced an upcoming retire of the founder and a generational succession.
