The Impact Of R&D Internationalization Of Chinese High-tech Enterprises On The Innovation Performance Of Parent Companies

Under the background of the rapid growth of domestic economy and the increasing innovation consciousness of enterprises,as an important innovation subject,the innovation performance of high-tech enterprises is related to the economic growth and high-quality development of the country.In order to better adapt to the international market and improve their own research and development ability,Chinese enterprises are trying to carry out overseas research and development activities by setting up overseas research and development subsidiaries,establishing transnational technology alliances,merging or acquiring overseas technology enterprises with R&D strategic assets,actively integrating into the global innovation network,and using global innovation resources to obtain cutting-edge technologies.This can help enterprises understand the latest development and trend of the international market,improve their research and development level and international competitiveness.Based on the existing research and relevant theories,combined with the current development of Chinese enterprises’ R&D internationalization,this thesis selects the data of Chinese listed high-tech enterprises from 2010 to 2020,subdivides R&D internationalization into depth,breadth and speed of R&D internationalization,and deeply analyzes the relationship between the depth,breadth and speed of R&D internationalization and innovation performance.It also measures the moderating effect of the absorptive capacity and R&D internationalization experience.This thesis firstly reviews the domestic and foreign research on the relationship between R&D internationalization and innovation performance and its theoretical basis.Secondly,the present situation of R&D internationalization and the characteristics of industry and host country are expounded.Then,on this basis,the research hypothesis is put forward,and the model construction,variable setting and empirical analysis are carried out.The results show that:(1)There is an inverse u-shaped relationship between the depth,scope and speed of internationalization of research and development and the innovation performance of enterprises.(2)Absorption capacity is a positive adjustment of the relationship between internationalization of research and development and the innovative capacity of enterprises.The higher the absorption capacity,the more positive the internationalization of research and development will be on the innovative capacity of the enterprise.(3)It is found that R&D internationalization experience significantly mediates the relationship between R&D internationalization and corporate innovation achievements.In other words,the more R&D internationalization experience,the stronger the role of R&D internationalization in promoting corporate innovation achievements.Based on the above research conclusions,this thesis have put forward some countermeasures and suggestions as following:(1)Chinese enterprises should actively expand the scope of overseas R&D activities,gradually integrate into the global R&D industry cluster,absorb and integrate technology and research results from inside and outside,and improve innovation performance;(2)Enterprises should increase R&D investment and pay attention to R&D resources such as talents,experimental equipment and research funds,so as to improve the absorption capacity of transnational R&D and maximize the results of transnational R&D;(3)The Chinese government should provide public services,establish overseas R&D information service centers to provide information and exchange platforms,and actively encourage and support competent enterprises to carry out R&D internationalization activities.
