The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that to comprehensively promote rural revitalization, priority should be given to the development of agriculture and rural areas, accelerate the construction of a strong agricultural country, strengthen the support of agricultural science and technology and equipment, and ensure that the Chinese people have a firm grip on the rice bowl.Against the background of "tight balance" between supply and demand of grain in China for a long time, ensuring food security faces severe challenges, and the scale of land management and technology application will be the main way to solve the imbalance of grain supply and demand in China.Due to controllable factors such as individual, family, policy, and risk attitudes, farmers have different choices and behaviors towards drone plant protection technology. The technological selection of farmers is an important link in the process of production and operation, which is directly related to the contribution of agricultural science and technology and the income level of farmers. This paper studies the willingness and behavior of farmers to choose drone plant protection technology from a micro perspective, which has positive theoretical significance and practical value for the promotion of this intelligent agriculture. This study is based on a sample survey questionnaire data of 642 farmers from 6 towns in Lingwu City,Ningxia.Using the binary Logit model,Heckman two-stage model, and Interpretative Structural Model(ISM),we analyzed the impact of multiple factors on farmers’ willingness and behavior to choose drone plant protection technology, and conducted a differential analysis of their willingness and behavior. The main findings of this study are as follows:First, farmers’ personal health, family labor force, planting scale, agricultural income, satisfaction with price subsidy policy and promotion of UAV crop protection technology, and farmers’ risk attitude towards UAV crop protection technology all have an impact on farmers’ willingness to choose this technology.Second, farmers’ personal age, health, degree of diversification, family planting scale, agricultural income, satisfaction with price subsidy policy and promotion of UAV crop protection technology, and the channels through which they obtain information on UAV crop protection technology all have an impact on the decision-making stage of farmers’ behavior towards UAV crop protection technology.Third, farmers’ health, degree of diversification, agricultural income, participation in agricultural insurance, and satisfaction with price subsidy policy all have a significant impact on the intensity stage of farmers’ behavior towards UAV crop protection technology.Fourth, farmers’ age, health, degree of diversification, agricultural income, satisfaction with price subsidy policy, and risk attitude towards UAV crop protection technology all have an impact on the difference between farmers’ willingness and behavior towards this technology.Fifth, according to the results of the ISM,the family agricultural income of farmers is a deep-seated factor that affects the difference between farmers’ willingness and behavior towards UAV crop protection technology.
